Amazing place full of interesting flora; a nice little place to have lunch and buy good quality souvenirs. Truly worth a visit when you're in Bathsheba.

We inadvertently stumbled upon the Andromeda Botanical Gardens while driving over to the East Coast of the island. What a gorgeous place to visit! We loved every minute of it and would recommend it to anyone as a wonderful experience and a lovely way to learn about various flora/fauna, etc. You will score some amazing photos as well.

I'm wondering if some expect more than we do? After reading some reviews was slightly put off - but a rainy day made the decision for us. Bus from Bridgetown (Fairchild station 6) goes out on the hour - so the standard 2 BDS got us there in just after 30 mins. It the stop before Bathsheba - and stops right outside. (I think bus from Speightstown goes out on hour as well - approx same time scale). We went on a Sunday so relatively quiet on the bus. Rain didn't put us off - the gardens make the most of confined space - cleverly designed - and we thought it was absolutely lovely. If not raining we'd have spent longer there. Had taken a picnic - which was a good job, as cafe was closed due to having painted the furniture - but these kind of things never worry us unduly in Barbados..... Did have to eat the picnic semi standing due to rain - and therefore unable to use outside tables, but hey ho, no big deal. It is quite hilly and slippy in rain - have to take care. I'm not sure it is accessible for those with mobility issues. Really glad we went. By time we came out rain had gone off, so we walked down the hill into Bathsheba. We had been before so it was just a stroll down, otherwise we'd have spent longer as Bathsheba is a must. The bus returns from Bathsheba on the hour to Bridgetown and one to Speightstown. They both set off together - so make sure you get on the right one! A party of 4 adults - a total of 16t BDS for transport. We did it by taxi last time we went to Bathsheba - we will be exploring the buses and the timetable much more next time..... it was easy - just needed to do homework in advance on the times. Glad we did Andromeda and then down hill to Bathsheba - not sure I'd be wanting to walk up the hill to Andromeda.......

The gardens are beautiful. I chose the wrong time of the day to go (midday). I cut my tour short and found some shade and many cool drinks!!
