Owner description: This beach offers spectacular views of the island, but watch out if you want to go swimming - strong undercurrents can make swimming here dangerous.

We drove over to the east coast. Found it very difficult even with a map to find Bathsheba. Eventually turned back. The next day we set out again and with the help of locals we found it. It was well worth the drive.. Rugged hills, sugar cane fields and beautiful beaches.. Stopped for lunch at a small restaurant across from the beach. They had the best flying fish cutters ( sandwich). Then went for a walk along the beach . The waves were something to behold.

We enjoyed our day so much we took English friends who were on vacation for his 60th Birthday. They never been to Barbados before so loved all the lovely scenery. Had lunch at the same small restaurant and a couple of Banks beer. . We all enjoyed the walk along the beach.. Although it is hard to find it is worth the effort.

Went here as part of a round Island tour and took some fantastic pictures. They hold surfing festivals here in November. Can't imagine that ther could be bigger waves.

Best part of the Island - forget the overcrowded West Coast - this is the real Barbados! Plenty of time and space to walk on the beach with so few tourists and toutes!

Gorgeous, great setting for photo shoot! Don't go in the water though! It is said to have 7+ different currents and swimming here would be like swimming in a washing machine! With that said, I did see some local fishermen wading in and spearing fish! That was very cool too see and made for good photos as well. :)

Its rugged and real, with wild winds and waves pound the shore. Do NOT swim here unless you know the area well. Their are dangerous rip tides and underwater caves.

I like the stories of the past when the Bridgetown train ran along the coast. More on this coming in my new book BarbadosShorts.
