“Lovely getaway”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 15, 2012

We have done 2 staycations here and look forward to returning. The rooms are so comfortable & well appointed. The food is excellent, the staff are very pleasant and make you feel right at home.
The view is amazing and although you cannot bathe in the sea by the property, the pool is a lovely spot to cool off. We felt like we were on a remote vacation which was just what we needed.

Book early because it is a boutique hotel with a few rooms, the sea view rooms go very quickly.

The Journey to the Atlantis Hotel was like a journy to a secret hideaway. Once we got there, my fiance and I were met by Michael who was so pleasant and escorted us to our room. Our first morning was perfect, as we sat in bed and watched the sun rise while the fishermen set out on their fishing trips. Adrian in the restaurant was just delightful and ensured that all our needs were met. To sum it up...... if you are looking to get away from the crowded west and south coast of the island the Atlantis is the place to be and if you require any assistance Diane and Cathy will definitely be more than will to help.

Can't wait to retun next year for my holiday.

My 1st time in barbados was such a pleasure, i very much so love staying at the atlantis hotel. The staff was incredible and hospitable. My friends and I stood at the cottage which was simply amazing. The view from our room was gorgeous. The food was excellent. I have no complaints about anything. Everyone was so nice to us. I love the way they greet you with a glass of rum punch. I will defintely stay here again without thinking about it twice.

Room Tip: The cottage is amazing with the best view.

My husband and I stayed on the West Coast for 10 nights but decided to visit the beautiful East Coast. We decided to stop at the Atlantis Hotel for some lunch and are so glad we did.

The staff were very helpful and friendly and clearly very proud to work in the hotel. The views over the East Coast were marvellous and the food and drink amazing. The sea food is a must and some of the best we have tasted!

We plan to return to Barbados next year and will definitely look to stay in this hotel

I suppose these days we are getting used to small hotels sporting a "boutique" label. I'm not really sure what one of those is, but I mean it entirely as a compliment when I say that the atlantic isn't! From arrival to departure, a whole seven nights was a joy. We arrived in the middle of their hectic and rightly famous Sunday buffet lunch. "check-in can wait, they said - sit down and have lunch!" Rum punch appeared as if by magic ( and a fruit punch for me, no longer permitted the pleasures of drinking alcohol, but see below!)

When lunch was finished we were taken to our room, via another visit to the buffet - they don't serve dinner on Sundays so would we like to select some salad, and a large chunk of mahi mahi (of the dolphin family) plus another dessert and it would be delivered to the capacious fridge in our room.

The staff were always helpful, and served at table with proper decorum, which would turn to beaming smiles and gales of laughter at the slightest provocation - so we provoked them on a regular basis!

Another reviewer has noted the stylish rooms, the crisp linen - the only battle was opening all the windows to see and hear the sea, or closing everything to run the air-conditioning. We were late in the season and it does get rather humid so we did use the air-con for a bit, and then open everything at bedtime. Not only did the bed have full mosquito nets, each room also was provided with a mozzie spray too.

Lovely pool, excellent food, free transfer to their sister restaurant on the other side of the island on other nights when they closed, good local cooking - their version of the ubiquitous Bajan bread pudding with rum sauce (Yes, I don't DRINK alcohol, but if it's there in the sauce - who could resist.

The place seems to attract interesting people - some great conversations over breakfast and round the pool.

If you must, and you must have night life, go to a big posh hotel on the west coast, but id you really want to chill, that should be "chill" of course, the Atlantis, its hands-on owner Andrew Warren, its helpful knowledgeable and frankly delightful staff, are where you should be!

Room Tip: The sea makes the rooms noisy, particularly on the front, not to mention the beeping tree frogs - bu...

Forget the newspaper images showing the likes of mahogany toasted Simon Cowell and Michael Winner posing on the beach.....Barbados has a lot more to offer than a load of mahogany toasted Brit C-list celebs. The fact that I am writing this months after our visit is testament to the sheer memorability of Barbados and in particular the rather decadent but relaxed hideaway on the Bathsheba coast, the Atlantis hotel.

Arriving in Barbados off the cuff without having arranged a place to stay is not the typical way visitors arrive to this ex-British colony but for us this spontaneous way of visiting Barbados certainly enabled us to really experience the many sides of Barbados.

The Atlantis hotel is more than one can ever hope for.........perched on a clifftop on the rugged Atlantic Coast. The ruggedness of Barbados' east coast is not synonymous with high-class accommodation but as you step into the open colonial-style lobby of the hotel you realise you are entering somewhere very special.

Aside from the largest most comfortable beds, the crispest egyptian linen, the finest cuisine and the special touches you would expect from a five-star London hotel the real pearl of the Atlantis is its people. The staff from the friendly hands-on owner to the restaurant hosts and cleaners offer such a personal and specialised service, even after the shortest stay you feel that they have become friends.

Travelling with a toddler is not easy but everybody at The Atlantis did their utmost to accomodate us and a very hyper two-year-old. Whilst the hotel is not necessarily targeted as a kid-friendly retreat, everything is done to make even the smallest member of the family welcome. Cots, highchairs and even the odd toy can be pulled out at mealtimes and the staff seem to take on responsibility for your children . When a hotel has all the amenities of a grand establishment but the relaxed and comfortable vibe of home you know you are onto a winner. From washing and drying your laundry at no extra cost to bringing your evening meal to your room

Room Tip: You cant go wrong choosing a room at the Atlantis hotel. Every room is exceptional!

Wow - glad you enjoyed our special little hotel.
As we say " treat others how you would expect or liked to be treated" and all should be good.

The simple things in life are usually the best.

We look forward to welcoming you back again one day.

We stayed here for two nights in March and had a fantastic stay.
The location is amazing, the rooms (we stayed in the bungalow) were great.

The restaurant was excellent - the sea food is some of the best I have ever tasted.

Staff and owners were really friendly, all in all a fantastic spot, well run with outstanding food and wine!

We will be back .........
