“One of our favourite spots in Barbados”

A wonderful scenic beach with amazing waves - wonderful for surfing but certainly not bathing.

The air is extremely fresh and the spray quite refreshing. We usually combine our visit here with lunch at the Atlantis or Round House.

Worth a visit to see the wonderful contrast to the West Coast

What a beautiful and scenic beach. Lovely place to sit and watch the sea. Very relaxing as we were there off season. November is the main surf time for Barbados

“Spectacular Wave Beach”
Reviewed March 6, 2013

We stayed at The Atlantis Hotel just down the road from the Soup Bowl and came here almost every day to see the surfers. The waves in the Soup Bowl are amazing and to watch the surfers riding them in is quite a sight. This not a bathing beach however, as the currents are very strong. The beaches in this area are very picturesque but could use some cleaning up as there is a fair amount of discarded trash on the sand. Despite this, it is well worth the time to see this area and to see the surfers challenge the Soup Bowl waves.

“needs a clean up”
Reviewed February 24, 2013

I have been coming to this island for thirty years and one thing that never changes is Soup Bowl.It is a surfers paradise when the surf is working. But when its working you cannot move in the water and you have to be careful not to upset the locals, they are very protective of this place.the beach itself can be dirty and littered with rubbish including broken glass hidden beneath the sand.you cannot go swimming here (unless your a local)The rips and undercurrents are bad. There are rock pools for children but a close watch needs to be kept at all times .Its a windy beach as well and burns the skin real quick.

“ANOTHER INCREDIBLE BEACH!”
Reviewed February 19, 2013

Not for swimming as previous reviewers have said, but for the opportunity to see surfers excel at what they do best! Right next to Bathsheba beach, the Soup Bowl has the same characteristics as Bathsheba beach with the massive rock formations, rugged coastline & pounding waves. A definite stop for some amazing photo/camcorder opportunities!
