We stayed here for 5 nights and found clean, comfortable, warm accommodation. Salvo could not have been more helpful, and did everything he could to accommodate our special requests. We will return to explore more of the geology, and this is definitely where we will choose to stay.

We bookended our December 2012 Sicily trip with stays at Agriturismo dell'Etna, and on the tail end, it truly felt like coming home. Salvo and his wife both treated us like family, and Salvo especially spent quite a bit of time with us, helping us plan our days and also doing a bit of research into my husband's ancestors, whom he's traced back to Riposto (one of the reasons we chose this particular location). Both of our rooms (beginning and end of the trip) were large and comfortable, and the first room especially, which was on the second floor, had an incredible view of Mount Etna, which we enjoyed both first thing in the morning and at sunset. The agriturismo is ideally located for exploration of the east coast of Sicily: Taormina, Siracusa and Etna. While there, we only ate in the restaurant, and we ate WELL. One night, we selected off the a la carte menu, and the food is fresh, rich and tastes of the earth. Another night we did pizza--and they have a very wide variety. Our last night was New Year's Eve, and we partook in the multicourse "cenone," a true treat. We ate, drank and reveled to our heart's content--it was quite a party! Our only word to the wise is to follow Salvo's directions very carefully when arriving for the first time. We got off the autostrada in Giarre and had a terrible time finding the agriturismo after dark. Also, note that this is the only accommodation of the three during our trip that required us to pay a deposit in advance, which we did easily via PayPal.

Room Tip: If possible, stay on the second floor facing west (toward Etna) for spectacular views of the volcano...

We had a very nice time during our stay at Salvos Residence. The accommodation was nice, large enough and very clean. The atmosphere was sympathic and familiarly. We enjoyed the individual choice of daily menu or a la carte - this is pleasant especially with the kids. During our stay we could watch the olive-havest. For us it was a good starting point for our daily trips. Hope we will come back soon...

My husband and I spent a week in mid-october at this beautiful place. It is ideally located (equidistant from Taormina and Catania) to explore the east side of Sicily and especially Mount Etna. The beaches are a 5-10 minute drive away.
The food is absolutely gorgeous: great pizze and excellent a la carte. If you don't want to bother with the menu, a delicious menu turistico will surely hit the spot!
The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and equipped with superfast wi-fi.
Salvo and his crew went out of their way with good advice about localities and made us feel very welcome.

We had a wonderful 3 nights at this agriturismo near Etna in the middle of July. We had a beautiful view out of the window of our room of Etna. Salvo and his family were lovely and made us feel at home - I just wish I spoke more Italian. I would definately recommend this place to friends and would also suggest trying at least for one night the half board and another night the Pizzeria as the food is fresh and fabulous. The agriturismo is in a great location for visiting Etna, Taormina and Catania.

We had a fantastic stay at dell'Etna. The owner, Salvo, and his family were very nice and fun. our room was big, clean, comfortable and had a nice view of Mt. Etna and the surrounding country side. It was so nice to wake up in the morning to the sound of birds singing and no sounds of traffic and city noise. Breakfast was always fun. We would drink as many espressos or cappuccinos as we wanted, plan out our day using our iPad, connected to their WIFi, eating their home made bread with good spreads, and fresh orange juice.
dell'Etna was a great location to explore Taromina, Catania and Syracuse.
I loved having the choice of finding a restaurant for dinner or just showing up for dinner at dell'Etna. They fed us wonderful local food and catered to me, a vegetarian, and my husband who will eat anything. There was more food then we could eat. One morning I went to the garden and worked with one of the ladies pulling weeds and playing with her dog.
Great place to stay. They treat you very well!!!!

We had a delicious Christmas lunch here on Dec. 25, 2011 with our family who joined us from France. The food was delicious and plentiful, the service was attentive and friendly. We felt as if we were having lunch with friends and family.

We were staying at a casa nearby and had run out of wood for the fireplace which was a necessity because of the chilly weather. The owner was gracious enough to give us enough wood to keep us warm for a few days until we could buy some more.

We would definitely recommend this restaurant as a genuine Sicilian experience.
