Lovely house with everything you need. Close to the harbour. A bit more explaining hoe things work for tourists outside of GB would be handy !!!
We stayed here for a long weekend with our son and daughter and their partners. A comfortable and relaxed house with everything you may need for a short or long stay. We had our dogs with us as well and they enjoyed the sunny garden. We were lucky with the weather so had breakfast in the pretty enclosed garden each morning. All in all a lovely family house. We will be back.
We booked the cottage for 3 nights and our only regret is not having been able to stay longer. This authentic traditional cottage has been lovingly restored and has everything needed for a restful vacation. Everything was spotlessly clean and in good working order. The cottage is tucked behind the main village street near the harbour, which makes it very private and quiet. The gardens are beautiful and everyday we enjoyed our tea and a glass of wine out amongst the flowers. We enjoyed cooking simple meals and eating in and there are two general stores and a couple of small cafes, all nearby. There's a hotel around the corner which has a pub which is good for evenings when you feel you need something to do, otherwise you can stay in and enjoy a selection from the collection of DVDs, books and games available in the house. My only suggestion, which I hope is taken as constructive criticism is that although we didn't mind stripping the beds before our departure, we did find the request to take the recycling to the depositing center a bit off-putting since I think the assumption is that guests have a vehicle at their disposal, which was not the case for us. Instead, we had to ask our taxi to drive us there and took care of this while he waited, which delayed our departure to our next destination. We felt that rather than asking this of paying guests, this issue could be easily resolved by having a recycling bin placed next to the trash bin outside the cottage and simply adding this to the housekeeper's chores on cleaning day. Otherwise, the place was perfect and we would happily stay here again.

Just spent an amazing 4 days staying in this cottage, we arrived on the Thursday 31st March and couldn't believe how amazing the place was, the Kitchen was well stocked with Pots/ plates, Cutlery etc, massive fridge freezer, cooker, microwave and even a George Foreman Grill , Washing machine, Tumble drier and Dishwasher, even a dog bowl, fantastic to give our dog Oreo a quick drink while we unpacked. The dining area was amazing with a large table, chairs and the long church pew bench , also on this floor brought us through to the 1st Bedroom, double bed , plenty of storage, then along a bit the next bedroom again very nice, shower and bathroom was on this floor too, downstairs to the master bedroom, had a door to the outside from there, the bathroom downstairs was huge with Roll Top bath again loads of storage, back on the entrance floor the stairs led up to a huge attic room with loads of seating, another dining table, television. The property was well stocked with games, books etc , was in a fantastic location, will certainly book again .

West Shore Cottage is a beautiful historic fisherman's cottage and has been sympathetically restored and furnished. It is very well equipped and comfortable. Its location in the small village of St Monan's is excellent. We enjoyed walks along the coastal path to Anstruther in one direction and to Elie in the other. Our dogs loved their holiday. The cottage garden is lovely and a bit of a sun trap.
The only criticisms I have is that the directions to the cottage and some of the information in the cottage need updating and there is no internet access.
