My husband, my dad, and I enjoyed 3 nights in Periwinkle in February and we’re really pleased with our choice. It’s on a very nice street just a few moments from the fife coastal path, there is plenty of parking and lots to explore nearby even if St Monans itself doesn’t have a great deal (which in my opinion goes in its favour) other than a small shop, a Chinese takeaway, a cafe.
The house itself is really nicely equipped with all the essentials plus things like teapots, ice cube trays, thermos flask etc which makes it like a home away from home. The fridge had been supplied with milk, and there was a small amount of tea, coffee and sugar plus a few things like salt and pepper. The heating is very efficient so the house is warm and cozy which I particularly appreciated (Scotland in winter brrrrrr). There is a main bedroom with a double bed, second bedroom with two single beds and a third smaller room with bunk beds, and one modern bathroom with bath and shower.
I feel the bathroom would benefit from some sort of shelf where you could place cosmetics etc (there is a small cupboard but I know I’d forget things if I put them in there), but that is just me nitpicking.
The keyless entry system was very convenient and it was good knowing the caretaker of the house lives in the same street.
My dad is already planning a return visit, and I would book again for sure: shame it’s a 5 hour drive from where I live!
Had a wonderful two days in Periwinkle with my wee family. A beautiful and well furnished apartment. A real home from home. Absolutely spotless and everything you need. Will definitely be visiting again.
My husband and I stayed at Ken and Beverley's house for a few days in March 2017. The house itself is lovely - very clean, well furnished and with everything you could need for cooking etc. St Monans is a peaceful town, ideally located for exploring Fife. We would recommend walking along the Fife coastal path - very beautiful!
Third visit to this lovely house, always spotlessly clean. Located in a small village with access to local shops and dining. Fully equipped with kitchen facilities and television and wifi. Games, toys, videos, books and DVDs to suit all from toddles to adults. House is lovely and warm during the winter, owner extremely helpful as was her agent Helen who is based locally. Dogs are welcome... And mine throroughly enjoyed it!!
cosy comfortable clean and spacious. like a home not a rental property. everything you needed for a great stay. lovely outside garden especially when sun shines. village interesting and friendly. again everything you need within easy walking distance.would love to come again. thanks
We were through in St. Monans for a family wedding in Kilconquhar and stayed at Periwinkle. The cottage was lovely, very clean and everything you could want for a holiday in this fabulous part of Fife. Have been to St. Monans many times in the past but this is the best place we have stayed.
Would love to go back and stay a bit longer to visit the newish fish restaurant as well as have a meal in the local hotel, which is a very welcoming and friendly place. There is even a Chinese takeaway if you don't want to cook and we would love to walk the coastal path as we haven't done that for many years.
I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone thinking of staying in this area of Fife and Helen, the lady who looks after the cottage for the owners, was at the end of the phone if you required and help and she only lives along the road so very handy.

Spacious, well equipped, cosy and comfortable cottage in a lovely location on the coast.
Excellent communication from owners and housekeeper.
Periwinkle is a place that we recommend and most certainly seek to spend time at in the future.
