We stayed for 3 nights to attend a wedding. The castle has been sensitively refurbished, but bedrooms, apart from the luxury suites, are rather small. However, they do have character and modern bathrooms. Unfortunately, we had plumbing problems and had to move rooms, but we got a fabulous view of the parkland in the second room. There are many public rooms where guests can relax, and it's easy to spend a day just around the castle. There are several walks in the grounds.
Service could have been quicker, and some options were unavailable at breakfast. However, the evening meal was superb.
The wedding day was fantastic, the castle giving a wonderful warm, relaxed atmosphere. Everything about the day was perfect.
I certainly hope to be able to stay at Carberry again sometime in the future.

Room Tip: Room 205 OK with view over courtyard and woods; room 209 smaller but with excellent view over parkla...

We stayed for 1 night for dinner bed and breakfast. Our room was fantastic, and the hotel has been beautifully renovated. We enjoyed dinner, however the service could have been improved. The staff were very pleasant but could have been more attentive in serving drinks in the bar and more efficient in the dinning room for a hotel of this quality. Some options were unavailable at breakfast which was disappointing. However we would recommend a stay at this hotel. The staff we spoke were very new and I'm sure with time and training the experience can only improve.

I attended a wedding at Carberry recently. It felt like the whole house was for our use throughout the day. It felt like a country house home, and not a hotel and it is a most beautiful setting. The staff were present but unobtrusive, so it felt like the most important people of the day were the bride and groom. The wedding buffet was lovely and service good. Everything went smoothly and it was a very memorable occasion with no hitches to mar the day.
I cannot comment on the bedrooms as I did not stay overnight, hence the overall rating of 4.

Myself and my partner attended a wedding at the above venue in December 2012 which I have to say was excellent .......the building was lovely with some present views surrounding the tower. Staff were friendly and willing to help with any enquires during the course of our 2 day stay. Food served within the restaurant was excellent breakfast was also very nice.
Rooms were small and very compact but very clean with a period feel.
Strongly recommend !!!

Looked forward to staying here as it looked lovely.we were told we were in the tower then told in the lodge, arrived about 11.30am but told room not available so we had to get ready in the gents & women's toilets so a great start after driving for 400miles.eventually got into room at 8.30pm and what a let down as room was more like a cheap budget hotel room with no character. Then told no cooked breakfast so told we were getting a continental breakfast with warm croissants but on a freezing cold morning we got no warm croissants but only a bottle of juice,a yogurt and cereal bar so what a let down. For £100 this was a rip off and would never recommend this to my worst enemy so be warned.we'll book elsewhere next time.

Stayed here recently for one night, a groupon deal, got the smallest attic room possible, nice but defo not worth the £119 normal price tag. Beautiful castle with lots of hidden rooms, places to explore, definitely worth a visit. Dinner nice but way over priced. Breakfast nothing special, in fact, I've had a better cooked breakfast at a cafe/diner. Waiter poured my tea when it was clearly not ready, looked like dishwater, by the time breakfast came, the tea was stone cold, not what I would call 5 star or even 4 star treatment, a tiny niggle but worth fixing.

I have to admit I was a bit worried about our trip after I read all the negative reviews here. But then I noticed that after the management changeover the reviews got much better. And they are right. I dont know what was wrong with the it before, but now it's an amazing place to spend a romantic weekend or even a wedding. The rooms are smallish (we havent seen the suites though) but very comfy, bathroom very nice, modern and clean. The common rooms are nicely preserved in the old style and the surrounding park is beautiful, especially in good weather. We also had a tasty dinner at the restaurant and the staff were all nice and pleasant. For us it was only a one night stay for Valentine's with a Goupon voucher but we were treated very well, the included bottle of wine wasnt the cheapest stuff and everything was arranged to our satisfaction. I recommend it to anyone who wants a quiet and romantic getaway:)
Maybe the only thing that I would change was that we got a room with two single beds instead of one kingsized which wasnt very Valentiny.
