stayed here on a travelzoo DBB deal which was value for money. set in beautiful grounds which are so tranquil. We stayed in a tower room which was lovely. Room had tea/coffee making facilities and TV. The accommodation is superb drowned in history. My only disappointment was that although staff were friendly, they did not furnish us with information on occasions. For example, I asked if there were any local walks to be told only the grounds, when in fact on exploring there is a lovely walk up Carberry Hill and some railway works across the road from the entrance to the hotel. At breakfast we were unsure if the breakfast was continental as the explanation seemed to suggest it was when it was actually a cooked breakfast. These are just small points but would make some difference. I would definitely stay again.

So glad I found this on a deal,on arrival found out I hadn't been booked in,which left everything a bit concerning to how the stay would be.A few apologies later everything was rectified and dinner booked. The room was slightly small but had an extremely comfortable bed laden with cushions. All very cosy and a lovely bathroom with power shower.Loved the brochure and to read of the history of the place it added to the ambiance.
Myself and partner both had the same starter and main, our starter was the Haggis Ravioli with Neep and a mustard, whisky vinaigrette. It was outstanding and we would happily eat that has a main.Great texture and flavours.Pasta was just fantastic!.We then both had the Rib Eye Steak,Hand Cooked chips,Shallot Rings with the Bearnaise Sauce,Succulent and flavoursome steak and tender, crispy chips, the sauce was the best Bearnaise I have ever had,but the highlight was those shallot rings, just Wow!......never thought I would highlight the vegetable.I followed with the panna cotta, mango sauce and champagne foam a great ending to my meal,my partner had the rice pudding, orange jelly and rhubarb compote in which he loved the texture and flavour combination. We left the restaurant to go to the lounge to have liqueur coffees and was very disappointed after being told that we could to not. They have a Barista on order.Somewhere of the caliber should have a Barista and serving fine coffee, even to hire in the meantime.
Anyway we had a great game of snooker and went to bed and must say had a great nights sleep.

Went down for Breakfast and once again great service and friendly, nothing was a problem.A delicious spread, fresh fruit, cereal etc.We opted for the Scottish,my egg was perfectly cooked to my request, herb sausage scrum my,Haggis was fantastic, tattie scone lovely but come on make them bigger lol.My only gripe was those beans, sorry but they don't go and people were commenting, you just cant beat Heinz with breakfast. The others should be on a lunchtime menu served on Ciabatta and some fresh Gruyere cheese.
We had a brilliant walk round the grounds and ventured up to the Queen Mary Stone, watched the deer and listened to the birds,Managed to capture some pics.I was very sad to leave and will definitely be back,an incredible place full of fantastic people who get it right 99% of the time on service.I can only go on previous pics from before, but this refurbishment was truly outstanding!.Cant wait to see you in the future!.......I will be back!

I have never left a online review before but felt that there is always a first. Just left Carberry Towers this morning after 4 nights (with young kids) and can say that it was a pleasure, the entrance itself is like a scene out of a film and then after this you are not disappointed. A beautiful castle/manor house set in lovely scenery with accommodation that is both welcoming, well maintained and comfy without losing its character or its history.

Staff were great in that they were very attentive and friendly, great with two youngsters (6&8) who Just wanted to explore the nooks and crannys and a full size snooker table which left me in a sweat but no one batted an eyelid. The deer in the gardens were the icing on the cake, just wish the place was a little easier to find....but then again maybe I don't so that when we go again there will be a room!!

Great location

We took advantage of a special offer to stay at Carberry and it turned up trumps. We found it rather hard to find, situated as it is in its own grounds far from the main road, but it is worth finding. A 16th century Scottish Castle - what more could one ask for!

The room was good, the food excellent and the service friendly. We took a pleasant stroll in the grounds and up to Carberry Hill to view the monument to Mary Queen of Scots.

It was quiet, only another set of guests but I suspect not for long.

We liked it so much that we arranged for the Scottish Castles Association to have its Christmas meal there.

A brilliant location for a wedding, conference, or for our visit, a special birthday celebration. Carberry combines historic charm with modern amenities - including the lift 'only installed in 2008' but most welcome! We had a suite that has to be one of the biggest and most comfortable rooms ever. Only niggle was slowish service at the buffet and breakfast but a small detail in an otherwise excellent weekend stay.

Room Tip: Book as early as possible and ask for a room with a king size bed - you might be lucky and get a ...
