The centre seems to be rebranding itself again with the signage now being Gemmells, not Nurseries Direct (as I remember I think Gemmells was its old name).
There is evidence of changes inside the centre and a lot of it looks quite Spartan but maybe awaiting stock.
There were clear problems with queues for the food, a long wait at the tills, new tills new staff, don't know and no explanation offered. This surprised ar previously efficient and friendly.
If changes are being made then the coffee shop could do with a make over as it is looking a bit tired now. The food we had was just ok but to be fair the cake stand looked a lot more inspiring.
The children's food were good portions but beware the children's menu only applies to under 5's, come on get realistic.
The rest of us had Panini's which were ok, 2 had good fillings but the chicken ones were very lightly filled. Also I don't call a toasted baguette a Panini.
There are 3 areas to eat and all were busy.
I took the kids to the soft play area, part of the refurbishment, it was fine £7.50 for the 2 of them for 2 hours. Needless to say very noisy but you can get coffee, sandwiches etc here as well. Plenty of tables for the adults to sit around.
Not sure what overall market they are aiming for, time will tell. We will still use it but it can improve.

A covered area now leads to the Gemmell's or Nurseries Direct Cafe. The staff are not trained overly well and the range of food available was acceptable, but not exceptional. Prices were reasonable but not attractive. The cafe/restaurant is split into three areas and even at Christmas time it doesn't sparkle. We did note a baby or toddlers feeding facility with a dedicated microwave, etc.
