This is a beautiful small B&B lovingly run to a friendly Belgian couple. They've been in the business for 16 years and it shows. The food was wonderful, all home made and delicious. They also import their own beer from Belgium twice a year, so you can expect a great selection of drinks. Although it's not on the lake, they have their own lake access and a small dock where you can sit or swim.

Will definitely be going back.

We spent one night at Chez Ignace while biking on Le P'tit Train do Nord. It was definitely one of the highlights of our trip!!

Chez Ignace is a few meters from the lake, although not directly on the shore. It has a beautiful garden and the rooms are beautiful. Our room (#4, I believe) was very quiet (I overheard another guest complaining about the noise from the highway, though). There was a jacuzzi in our giant bathroom ... how can I explain how great it felt to use it after a 6 hour bike ride???

The best thing about Chez Ignace (and there are many) is the food. Ours was included in the package we bought for the trail. The vegetables were fresh, the meat exceptionally good, the breakfast to die for. We had a couple of imported beers that were a bit pricey but totally worth it.

We were traveling with a toddler and found the staff always ready to accommodate her needs (we found that not to be the case in all the B&B we stayed in).

The only thing I didn't love about this place was the decor. Too many stuffed animals for my taste. Other than that, we'll make sure to go back whenever we're near Nominingue!!

We were cycling with a three year old in tow. Our room was perfect with a single bed in the corner for our son. There is right of way to the lake across the street, for a swim with a sandy bottom, or to sit out on the dock and watch the world go by. The food was the best part. From start to finish both our dinner and breakfasts were amazing. By far the best food we ate on our four day trip down le petit train du nord. Would highly recommend it!

For the benefit of non-Francophone travellers, let me write part of this in English. Chez Ignace was utterly perfect as a stop-off point, about 58km from Mt. Laurier along the P`tit Train du Nord cycle route. Lovely B&B, great and interesting food (e.g. I had very good smoked salmon followed by wapiti stew), decent wine list, and Belgian beers that were extremely welcome by our over-heated and exhausted crew. Access to the lake was great for a refreshing swim (we did not have time to use the kayaks), and the jacuzzi (where we could take our beers) was the very best part. Internet access was helpful, and the rooms were comfortable. Could not have asked for better.

We stayed at Chez Ignace for one night while we were biking the P'tit Train du Nord. The Inn is right on the bike path and just a short walk from the Lake. Ignace offers a nice selection of imported Belgian beers which we enjoyed tremendously on arrival after a long day on the trail. He had a shed to lock up our bikes and there are nice sitting areas to relax - inside and out. The rooms are good sized, a little dated, but comfortable. Overall, the decor is pretty eclectic - a mix of antiques and stuffed animals. We had a private dining room and were treated to two fantastic meals. Dinner featured game meats like venison and rabbit. We were amazed by the selection and quality. Ignace is an impressive chef. This place is a hidden gem.
