“Second time here, just as good, if not better.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 3, 2013

We (two couples) attended the Buxton Charity Ball in 2012 and as a last minute find, we found this guest house and were over the moon (check previous review out.)

This year, we decided to return to the charity ball (with a third couple) and all stay at the Springbank because of how much we loved the place.

Susan is an amazing host, you couldn't ask for anything more.

The rooms are spotless, furnished beautifully and it's situated in an excellent location. Whaley Bridge is stunning. There are places to get lunch/tea, there are antique shops, grocery stores, whatever you need.

There is on street parking available, we were able to park 2 cars fine. There is also a train station less than 2 minutes walk away.

This is an excellent place to stay, 5 out of 5 isn't enough. We are going to come back in 2014 to stay again in the summer for the weekend.

The breakfast is awesome too.

Room Tip: The king sized room is awesome!

I would recommend Spring Bank over and over again. The ambience of the "home" (notice I did not say house) is great - Susan makes you feel quite at home. I stayed there with my children (boy aged 17 and girl aged 8) and we arrived there after a very long trip from South America. We spent three days there at a very difficult time in my life - I was there for my mother's funeral and had not been to Whaley Bridge in over 45 years! I had never met Susan before but I did not feel like a stranger. She was a very helpful hostess and my children have wonderful memories of the place. For their first trip to England it was just the right touch of old and new and English essence. The breakfasts are very hearty - all fresh local produce. The location near to the train station is ideal for easy access and first finding.

Stayed here for one night because the nearby Navigation Inn cancelled our booking because they had double booked. Glad we stayed here now, Susan was the perfect host. The Victorian house was a real gem. We stayed in the very large front bedroom and found it excellent. The en-suite was a little small, but adequate. The separate bathroom looked fantastic, pity we didn't have time to use it. We took to the terrace for drinks in the sun, a nice little sun trap. Breakfast was as good as you would get anywhere. A place I would definitely return to. Well done Susan.

Room Tip: The front large bedroom is fantastic.

Having failed to find anywhere to stay in Buxton on our cycling trip, we chanced upon Springbank, and what a lucky chance it was. Very much agree with other reviewers. Susan was tremendously helpful. Good, secure, undercover accommodation for our bikes. Room was fairly small but comfortable. The bathroom and toilet have to be seen to be believed- marvellous old enamelware. Very impressed by such accessories as alarm clocks and ear plugs. WiFi much appreciated. Breakfast excellent. Whaley Bridge is not a destination in itself for the tourist, but if you are looking for a friendly, comforting and comfortable stay in this area, you can do no better.

I planned what to say in my review on the way home but it's all been said before me. It's all true. A great B&B. Susan's thought of everything. Just wish I'd been for a walk before breakfast so I was ready for it.

From the moment we arrived at Springbank Guest House, Susan made us so welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. We were in Whaley Bridge for a wedding, and despite it being a Saturday, Susan was more than willing to give us an early Full English Breakfast (delicious) to start us on our way for a long day.
The House is beautiful, and full of original features. Our room was extremely comfortable, and with Books and DVD's available to all Guests, I only wish we could have stayed longer than our allotted 2 nights.
The Guest House is very convenient for not only the shops of Whaley Bridge, but a short walk up the Lane leads you to a picturesque walk by the Reservoir and Memorial park.
We hope to return one day soon. Thank you Susan, for a most wonderful stay!

7 of us stayed over for the night for a wedding and loved Springbank, the decor is really impressive and very well maintained. An eclectic range of furnishings and decor that was great to see and investigate - the Bath Room - is imposing. Susan was an excellent hostess and we enjoyed the stay, breakfast was a superb - a Full English, also good to chill out in the lounge and read the Sunday papers before leaving - thanks Susan - a great stop-over.
