“Impressive place with good value food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 2, 2013 via mobile

Over 50 of us dined at a celebration lunch. We had a choice of food (menu photo attached) and the food was pretty darn good. I had a tasty prawn cocktail starter with wheaten bread. The prawns are cold water, very tasty North Atlantic prawns and they are the right prawns for a prawn cocktail, not those oversized taste lacking giant warm water prawns favoured by Chinese restaurants. My main was a roast beef lunch with a fantastic Yorkshire pudding, excellent gravy, good mash, perfectly cooked vegetables and deep fried potatoes. Those who had the garlic mushrooms and soup starters and the salmon mains all declared them tasty too. I was able to try the dill sauce that came with the salmon and, like the gravy, it was surprisingly very good. We all finished with tea and coffee. It was no easy feat to serve up over 50 very good meals as quickly as they did. So near full marks. One downside just one draft beer (Coors) on sale. Oh, sadly no Internet.

We visited Randalstown World of Owls and were recommended to go to Truffles. the Staff were freindly, helpful and courteous. The food was fabulous and the prices very reasonable. It is defintley somewhere I would reccomend and would go back again. It would be a handy stop over on the way to or from Belfast and would eat here rather than a take away also ideal as it is adjacent to junction-one. Cant wait to go back, wish it was closer to home, thank you to all the staff for looking after us so well and to Mike for recommending it to us and booking us all in. Sonya

Room Tip: Restauraunt only, sound like it would be lovley to stay over too.

Have Eaten here many time,s always the staff are very friendly and attentive without being pushy. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed with a very good sound system, the background music is never too loud or too quiet. The food here is fantastic, priced fairly and always really tasty.Never once had a problem here and returned time and again.

Hi,

As Truffles is local to us we have no need to avail of the lodging, so this is a review for the Restaurant only.

Restored just a few years ago Truffles seems popular offering an additional source of restaurant food within a limited choice in the town of Randalstown. Centrally located in the middle of the town, free on street parking is available right outside the front door with a few spaces within the rear private yard. Beware the parking attendants should your vehicle be incorrectly positioned, though in the evening I presume the ‘red coats’ no longer patrol.

Under the leadership of ‘Avril’ the staff are polite, helpful & well trained, the varied menu offers everything from a toasted sandwich right up to Sirlion Steak specials. Priced well to attract custom expect to pay £9.95 for a main course only option from the set Xmas menu with 2 & 3 Course being slightly more. Portions are generous served on nice warm plates and the food being home cooked style, very tasty indeed!

Breakfast, lunch & A La Carte all available with a function room for any party, social bookings

A wine list is available and a full bar covers various largers & spirits.

With bright décor, good location and all of the above Truffles would be a good choice if dining in Randalstown.

Well worth a try!

Went to this restaurant with my husband and son for the Wednesday special All you can eat Indian Buffet. WOW we were super impressed! Starters, sides and Main courses were all freshly prepared and flavoursome. We will be returning with more family and friends for this recession beating dinner - Only £9.95 a head and we are all home with bursting bellies. Don't miss this one phone and book for next Wednesday.
The only downside is whenever you enter the premises it is difficult to know where to go..........

we've eaten here a few times, and while i wouldn't go out of my to eat there, the food is fairly decent and the service also. serves food all day, so is handy if, like ourselves, you usually want your sunday lunch in the middle of the afternoon.

Had an evening meal here during my cycle on the loughshore trail, around Lough Neagh. Had a very nice welcome and fantastic service. The food was nicely presented and very tasty. Meal cost for one including two drinks was less than £25. Excellent.
