Just back from a fantastic week at Kuredu Resort.
Have read all the positive reviews and can see why people drool.
From arrival to departure everything is fantastic.
The staff are all incredible and ever helpful.
The accommodation and restaurants are first rate with excellent choices and options at all meals.
The snorkelling was amazing and other guests were enthusing about the diving.
Every effort is made to give a five star holiday.
Cannot fault the place,highly recommended.

Room Tip: The O resort villas are all good and are a class up from all other beach villas.

Just returned from our fourth trip to this wonderful island and already booked to go back next year! Sooo many visitors return - check out the face book site to meet everyone and read the comments. The island is stunning and has something for everyone- O resort end is breezy , with crashing breakers and the pool area and bar generally quiet but lively enough at night. Sangu end is the long sandy spit where you can walk out to sea for miles- quiet bar and restaurant. When you want to party the central area is lively with something happening every night! The pool is lively by day too. Plenty of snorkelling sites and dive school too! Fish and turtles are amazing! The food is great- lots of choice and themed every night. The staff are all soooo friendly- to recognise a few- Fikry,Arthur, Nemal O resort bar, Jayanthana, Amir, Mamun, Sarath, Arthur, Mujay and Mr Ken (!) the Manager who is always around to talk and listen- there are so many more. So lots if choice to suit the majority I am sure. Fully recommended! Thank you for another memorable holiday! Oh yes the spa treatments are great too!

Room Tip: Dependant on budget find the extra for a beach villa rather than garden bungalow.

Dear Guests,

Warm greetings from your home in paradise!

We thank you for your fourth visit and already confirmed fifth visit. We thank you for your review of the holiday just had with us in January. We thnak you very much for the high recommendations of the resort for those holiday makeres planning their value for money destination. We also want to thank you for inviting readers to join our family on the Facebook.

Yes, the wind at the O side has been strong during your stay. The wind direction channges strongly, and it is customery to have the northeast winds during this period of time until mid March, when the east part of the resort will have a soft pleasant breeze and the western part pciking up strength. Under all circumstances however, the O Resort has an ambiance that is quite exclusive and unique.

We thank you for highlighting the three profiles the resort has, something for everyone accommodating the change in moods and expectations. Maldives being strongly a diving destination, the center part of the resort remains quite active.

We wish to thank you also very specially for your commendation of our team members who have added value to your holiday with a personal touch. Arthu and his team are consistently developing their Island Host services to newer hights and with Ken at the helm we are heading the right way.

Thanking you once again for your review, we look forward to your next visit.

Warm regards,

We went in early January and had booked a Jacuzzi Beach Villa. Unfortunatly it was very near the jetty and the seaplane noise was a distraction. However, we went to reception and we were moved further up the beach near the "O" resort.

We used the "O" resort bar all of the time as we found the main bar a bit oppressive with the heat and the noise. The bar staff at the "O"bar were very very good. We also ate most of our meals at this end but we had had to book for dinner everyday as the management wanted $30 dollars a day just for the privilege of not booking.

Of the two Al La Carte restaurants we used, I found the Far Eastern the better one of the two as I like sushi. The only time we ate in Francos I was in dire need of a toilet by the time we got to the "O" bar.The seared tuna did not agree with me.

We used the small but well equiped gym a couple of times as my Wife is training for the London Marathon and running in that heat was a big strain. We also used the outside badminton court but if its windy the cock has a mind of its own.

The house reef is not the best as there is a lack of coral and it is quite deep. Having said that, there is a lot of fish and a resident turtle. We also saw a large stingray nearer the beach.
We used Prodivers for our snorkelling trips and it was a pleasant change to find that they treat snorkellers with the same respect as divers. The main highlight was the full day manta ray trip. We managed to snorkel in open water with Mantas on two occasions that day. We also saw turtles, moray eels and a big pod of dolphins followed the boat at one point. A big thank to Karin from Prodivers for a wonderful experience. I'd also like to thank Swen for two other snorkelling trips and Jenna for taking our Manta Ray talk.

The Jacuzzi beach villas are very nice although there is a lack of storage space and not enough lighting in my opinion. Very efficient air con and quite a large flat tv with sufficient channels. We only used the jacuzzi once so maybe a waste of money.

We used the"O" spa twice which was a lovely relaxing experience.Men beware, if you wear surf shorts like I do, you are given paper see-through pants to wear...not very flattering.

The negatives. The size of Kuredu means they use trucks to cart stuff about which kick up dust and spew out diesel fumes. Its about a ten minute walk from the "O" to the main recetion. Also, some parts of the interior look like a mangrove swamp and there is what looks like a boat yard half-way along the beach.
Would I recommend Kuredu?.......if you've been to the Maldives before I'd say no but if it's you're first time I'd say go for it.

As for Thomson, we had a 22 hour delay going out as, for the second year running ( see my Mexico review) a First Choice plane had a fault. I'd say pay up and get a scheduled flight. Thats what we are doing next year as we have decided that Thomson are not getting another penny off of us as their customer service is terrible.

Dear Guest,

Warm Greetings to you from the sunny Maldives!

The review of your holiday with us in January this year, is a very honest opinion of your experience and we express our our gratitude for it. We thank you for the recommendation made in your review to those seeking advice for their first holiday in the Maldives.

We are happy to note that you thoroughly enjoyed snorkeling experiences with Prodivers, the single largest dive base in the Maldives and also the only dive base that has a dedicated snorkeling center within it's facility complete with instructors and guides.

it is good for us to note that you enjoyed the 'O' Resort and it's facilities and are happy that though your allocated main restaurant was Koamas, you had opportunities to use the 'O' Restaurant which is the allocated restaurant for the guests in 'O' Beach Villas.

It is our opinion that it does add immense value to our guests' experience when there are choices to avail. However, it is important for us to regulate this a bit to avoid over crowding of the most facoured facilities, a situation that would impair everyone's holiday experience.

We thank you once again for taking your time to pen down this feed back for us, and it is our earnest hope that we will have the privilege of welcoming you back for your next possible holiday to the Maldives.

Warm regards,
Chris Nargunam

Went to Kuredu for our honeymoon in September 2012 and it is the most amazing place I have ever visited! From the moment the seaplane whisks you over the islands, to the beautiful evening sunsets, this place is absolute paradise.

With it being our honeymoon, we booked the water villa and we were not disappointed. We were treated like royalty from the moment we stepped off the plane. We were whisked to our own reception at the Sangu reception; our water villa was amazing. A four poster bed, inside bathroom and double balcony for relaxing on our very own sun loungers in front of the Indian Ocean. Turtles, sharks and stingrays visited and the water was turquoise and clear and snorkelling every day straight from the villa into the warm water.

Although our 'bands' allowed us to dine anywhere, we stuck to the intimacy of the Sangu restaurant. I know a lit of people complain about the banding system, but we did have to pay a lot extra to be at the Sangu resort! The food was amazing and we were always spoilt for choice! However, we could not eat at lunch time due to the heat and always being full up from breakfast!! You never have to wear shoes (although the boards to the villa can get very hot, there are water hoses to cool your feet at intervals).

There is entertainment if you want to enjoy your evening, but we never went to the main area to see this as we were happy with our own company and just chilling in the Sangu bar after our evening meal!

The diving is most enjoyable too, which I participated in on my first ever time. The diving at Kuredu suits a large range of divers from novice to experienced.

I can't wit to return to Kuredu and, although a costly holiday, it is worth the next few years of saving to be able to go back! The people are friendly and can't do enough for you and always make you feel extra special.

Room Tip: Go that extra mile and get a water villa, you will not be disappointed!

Dear Guest,

Warm greetings from your honeymoon destination in the Maldives!

Your review is a befitting testimony to honeymoon couples as to how perfect Maldives could be for their perfect holiday.

We are very impressed to note that you could spend almost all your holiday at the Sangu Resort. From the time we have developed that part of the island, it has been the most favoured location for honeymooners and couples on their romantic getaways.

You would have taken time to visit our O Resort on the eastern end of the resort, where we have a similar concept as Sangu but with bit more facilities in a trendy setup.

Truely, water villas could offer a very self centered holiday aided by the abundance of marine life all around, enhancing the traqulity. This is further supported by the traditional design of the Sangu bar and restaurant.

We wish to thank you enormeously for highly recommending us to other holiday makers considering Maldives.

We cannot wait to welcome you back again to re-run your memories and have another great holiday.

We thnak you once again for your review of your holiday.

Warm regards,
Chris Nargunam

We stayed here in September, our second trip to the Maldives, the first to Meeru as there is no place on earth like this..and I have travelled. You will be blown away be the warmest of welcomes, fantastic food and pure breathtaking views, it dosen t really matter which accomodation you choose here, its not about your room its about being out and about! There is a whole island to explore and enjoy, grab a kayak for the day, you will see things you have never seen, the marine life is stunning. There are so many things to do here, it depends on how hard you want to play :)In the afternoons, the sea parts and you can walk between the oceans, just amazing. Everything here in the Maldives is to the highest of standards, they will cater for your every need, no matter what it is. We will be going again this year:)
