Absolutely brilliant. I cannot fault the resort at all.
Our room was an en suite beach hut with views over the ocean.
Crystal clear water with a house reef. Snorkeling brilliant, I swam with turtles!
The food was excellent and our dedicated waiter was on the ball. G&T appeared almost as soon as we sat down.
WiFi in the bar to keep in touch.
Go on the trips offered, swimming with manta rays? Brilliant.

Room Tip: Never saw a bad one. I was offered an upgrade but declined. Upgrade from a 30 second stroll into t...

What a gorgeous place... I would recommend this to both couples and families. There is a good mixture of being able to lie around the beach for the entire holiday, or experiment with water sport activities if you'd prefer, although this may prove quite expensive if you have a large family. The best thing to do is to buy a simple snorkel, mask and fin set before you fly out as the sea-life is the most amazing thing I've ever seen! And free :-) Turtles, rays, baraccudas and other brightly coloured fish can be seen really close to the shore- you don't need to swim out very far to have them around you. I'd definitely advise getting the sea plane rather than a speed boat for your transfer as the views are spectacular- one of the best parts of the holiday. The food here is insane, caters for all tastes and the main restaurant itself is set on a sandy floor, so you feel like you are dining at the beach. We stayed in a beach bungalow and were offered an upgrade but delined as the beach bungalws were in a better spot and more rustic- still with an outside bathroom and four poster bed. Take some cooling mist spray as the temperature stays the same throughout the 24 hours (we went in April). And if you've booked or are booking this holiday, I am SO jealous!!! Will definitely have to go again in my lifetime- Pure paradise.

Room Tip: Beach bungalow did it for me :-) Although all accomodation looked beautiful.

Our first impressions with kuredu were dissappointing apart from the four days of rain when we arrived the whole wristband thing and dining experience in Akiri bar Bonthi restaurant and the entertainment complex was dreadful. The service in the restaurant particularly was awful by our allocated waiter who we chose to avoid if possible. If you goto the a la carte restaurants far east and beach these were great but expect to pay for it but worth it. We also told our island host that we would like to upgrade from the beach bungalow this was not arranged for us so we stayed in room 440 which was very good and clean. We tipped our cleaner the most as he looked after us the most. The pool area is small for the size of the resort and yes it's a bit like Benidormso so be warned. The spa was ok but nit a luxury bali ir thai spa by any means. overall not a great experience and be warned if the weather is bad then male airport closes and as I write this emirates have a 10 hour delay because if the runway safety. Other guests were put in 2 star accommodation in male on the way out as they could not fly on the sea plane to kuredu because of the weather.

We went to kuredu 20-31st October on honeymoon, flew with emirates from manchester via dubai great flight but a very tiring journey would def try to fly direct next time. We arrived at male and were transferred by minibus to TMA seaplane terminal and straight into kuredu lounge where there are free refreshments and aircon! We had around 40 min wait for seaplane, I'm not a fan of flying and had been dreading this part of holiday since booking however was fantastic the views are amazing what an experience. Arrived on kuredu and were greeted with the drums and taken to chk in, we had initially booked a beach bungalow but then upgraded to o resort beach villa, because of this we wer taken straight upto o resort by taxi to chk in there. In our opinion the o resort is by far the best restaurant/bar and location on the island and we were glad we had upgraded, the only downside to this part of the island was the sea was not great due to the breakers being there, but understandably they are there for a reason to preserve the island, although in the lagoon you do see loads of reef sharks which are really close to you and don't seem bothered by people. The obv are gorgeous with two loungers on the beach outside villa, day bed with fan above on veranda and a gorgeous room with tea and coffee making facilities, wine cooler and minibar fridge. The outside bathroom is lovely too although very hot! We took loads of snacks with us for the room but didn't eat half of them as your never left hungry with the amount of food available. Our room boy was really good and left us champagne and fruit basket on the first morning then decorated our bed with honeymoon t shirts and flowers, a very nice touch. The island is spotless there are ladies around and about constantly cleaning the beach and pathways. The o resort restaurant is in our opinion the best out of them all service fantastic thanks to our waiter Shafleen such a nice guy couldn't do enough for you, also sargean the chef very very happy man always smiling. The food is fantastic morning noon and night always a different selection, we also ate at sangu restaurant and were lucky enough to get a table on the beach which was nice but service didn't compare to ours. We did venture down to main babuna bar for mr & mrs quiz and won! But there was a bit of a package holiday feel down there and wasn't what I thought the Maldives was about, without sounding snobby! We used both spas which were fantastic but the over water seems a bit more special. My husband played golf and the bar there is nice too, he also went on a few dives which seemed really well organised by pro divers. And also there is a weekly football match staff vs guests which he had been looking forward to even if they did get hammered by the staff including the Maldivian messi! On walking the island our tips would be try not to stay in b bungalows situated just behind sangu villas the sea here was stagnant and not really what you could swim in, the water villas are beautiful and koamas jbv are nice too up towards the o resort. The staff on the island are fantastic and cannot do enough for you remember to tip them as they more than deserve it. We also went on free sunset cruise which is lovely too no sunset seen really but saw a few schools of dolphins which was amazing. Weather wasnt great 5 good days out of 11, and the bad days were rain like we had never seen before, still didn't spoil it though. All in all a fantastic and beautiful place, some other guests not as friendly as we thought, although did meet a few nice couples. I will struggle with a normal European holiday after this and still think about how beautiful it was most days! Kuredu is a very busy island, will definitely go to the Maldives again but as this was our first island would like to try a quieter island next time but it will have a lot to live upto.!

Went last Feb. We read loads of reviews before hand and were really happy about choice of resort. We stayed in the O resort.-this is chill out.
My husband really enjoyed the highly professional diving facilities & I loved the accompanying boat trips, snorkelling, spa experiences and lying on the sunbeds in front of the beach villa, reading!
All inclusive was perfect- really enjoyed all the fresh food cooked to order on the grill and salads-great fish, fruit, nice cheese. A cheerful greeting at Breakfast- what more can you ask for after a British winter!!
Am writing this review 9 months later- planning my return- I think I left my soul there!

My partner and I stayed for two weeks here from 16th October 2011. We had read the Kuredu forum so went prepared. We packed clothes for the afternoon and evening of our arrival, along with suncream, toiletries, insect repellant, at the top of our suitcase and transferred them to hand luggage at Male airport. The transfer was very smooth: quickly taken to the sea plane terminal where we were given cold towels and free drinks and then off on the plane. Fantastic 40 minute flight over the atoll. Arrived late afternoon to a be welcomed by our resort host and a drink. Registration quickly completed we were taken on a quick tour and then to our bungalow. As we intended doing a lot of diving we were in a garden bungalow (the least expensive option) but all inclusive. The bungalow was absolutely fine; verandah with loungers and chairs, nice big room and bed and the fantastic outside bathroom. (Tip: if you are prone to being bitten, don't turn the light on outside at night.)
The island is fantastic and quiet, the most soul healing place I have been to. The island was probably half full (about 500) but you never felt crowded or on top of anyone. The staff quarters are in the middle of the island and well concealed, you'd never know there were 300 people staying there! And what staff! Warm, welcoming, polite and helpful, everyone and deserving of their tips (we gave our houseboy and waiter $15, the boat boys $2 every dive and the two dive centre boys $10, which was gratefully accepted).
The all inclusive food was amazing (we could only eat in Bonthi but the food is the same everywhere so it wasn't a problem). Considering Kuredu is in the Indian Ocean, we had fresh salads that would give any Tesco a run for its money, fantastic freshly baked bread every day and a variety of hot dishes and vegetables to satisfy even picky eaters. The food was laid out in small quantities, regularly replenished, so it was always hot and fresh. Meat was tender and of good quality and the curries were excellent. We didn't try any of the a la carte restaurants. Drinks were more than acceptable, even the wine.
There really wasn't anything we were disappointed with, except that for those in garden bungalows it would have been nice to have had 'first come, first served' shade on a beach, otherwise you were pretty much confined to your verandah or around the pool.
The diver centre (ProDivers) were fantastic. I had only qualified in September, but my partner is very experienced and has dived all over the world and rarely found a centre so well run, or with staff who were so prepared to look after their clients. It was an amazing introduction to proper open water diving for me with a Manta sighting being the only thing missing.
The Spa is also worth a visit. They sell amazing aloe vera gel which is great for soothing sun burnt or dry skin. Treatments aren't cheap but more affordable if you take advantage of their introductory offer within 3 days of arriving.
We had to pack our cases the night before we left so they could go by sea to meet us at Male. So reverse procedure to coming out. As we stepped off the minibus from the sea plane terminal, our cases were being pushed towards us! Fantastic organisation!
So, all in all, wonderully, relaxing holiday: casual clothes, bit smarter for evening, no shoes, great food and drink. Time to be on your own (the bungalows are quite private even though close together) and a short walk to the main area if you want to socialise.
Go if you can!

Firstly, before we went to Kuredu we were a bit nervous as we had read mixed reviews on here, however when we arrived we were outstanded how wrong they could be!!

We stayed 7th-18th Nov in the standard garden bungalows which meant we ate each night at the Bonthi restaurant.

The room was kept clean, spacious and a couple of steps to the beach, what more could you want? your in the Maldives, how much time are you going to spend inside??
The restaurant was brilliant, our waiter Shiham couldnt do enough for us, our drinks glasses were never empty whenever we dined and the food was delicious. Im a fussy eater in general and dont like spicy foods but wow did i eat, i gained half a stone and my boyfriend gained over a stone!! Breakfast has everything you need, fresh pancakes, omlettes, cereals etc. I can honestly say we rarely saw the same foods at dinnertimes and you must try Delwars pasta it is delicious (i still miss it now!). Even more refreshing is that we never saw chips (a staple food at most European all inclusive resorts!) at any time we was there!! only fresh cut potato wedges etc. We took snacks with us but hardly ate them as we was too full between meals. Overall,we loved the food!

The snorkelling was fabulous too, just a couple hundred yards out we saw a turtle our 1st day and several times after, we recommend the Britt boat trip, we was snorkeling with 3 huge mantas swimming around us which was AMAZING!!

We had great weather, it rained one morning for a few hours and one evening otherwise it was dry and between 28-30 degrees.

I cannot recommend Kuredu enough! Seaking to other guests on the island they also couldnt understand why there are so many mixed reviews, we presumed you must be extremely fussy or high maintenance to find faults on Kuredu.

Overall we thought it was fantastic value for money and found ourselves genuinely sad to leave.

Room Tip: Dont bother taking shoes we didnt wear any the whole time we was there! Use plenty of insect repell...
