We were welcomed as friends, by our first names. Superior service and cleanliness.
Great view, great food, great all around experience.
Centrally located on the island and easy to find.
Kayaking the san Juan's is right out the front door
Gas fireplace, superior bed, great food and even better people.
We had the pleasure of staying in the Spruce Suite (KF4) at the Kinfish Inn. A fabulously romantic room. Beautifully appointed, super comfortable bed, and a killer view of the West Sound on Orcas Island. Our only complaint upon entering the room was we could not locate a corkscrew to open our bottle of wine we were so much wanted to share! We managed with a few twists and turns of a kitchen knife. The private deck of the room is fabulous. Only recommendation is an upgrade of the patio furniture and trimming of the tree that impeded the view from the right hand side of the deck. We believe this is one of the only rooms at Kingfish with a large private deck. The other advantage of this Inn is the location. Right next to the primary road and intersection that crosses over the island to the Eastsound as well as the primary road to Deer Harbor.
Our room was beautifully decorated. Everything was clean and open and light. The balcony had a perfect view of the harbor. At night, the harbor is so still and silent. It was a perfect place for a our honeymoon!! The restaurant downstairs had delicious food as well. Very convenient if you don't want to drive into Eastsound for dinner.
Kingfish Inn was a great quiet get a way on Orcas Island. My husband and I traveled there and stayed for a week. View of the west sound was pretty, and plenty of hiking trails nearby. Although expected, there is no daily housekeeping service and no wifi. The cellular signal was not great for us on the island, but if being disconnected is your goal... This is the place to go. Complimentary breakfast is included, but menu is fixed and not announced prior to arrival at the meal.
Beautiful spot and a very comfortable, nice room! Westsound Cafe was wonderful; close to the float plane dock, which is great, and a car or some kind of transportation is needed to get anyplace else on the island; it's about a 20 minute drive to Eastsound. Recommended!
We stayed here three nights in the upstairs suite. With some mobility issues, the hike up the stairs was a challenge but the room was cozy and lovely with a water few. We had a lovely walk along the harbour, it was equal distance to Deer Harbor and Eastsound. The food was wonderful, especially breakfast - . colorfully presented. Quiet - a true get-a-way.
Kingfish is true to their word, they don't bother you during your stay. We were there 4 days and would have liked enough attention to fill the coffee and tea service and replace used cups and glasses, the bathroom sink was not well suited for dishwashing. The room was lovely, very well decorated and a very commfy bed. We didn't get to use the deck because of the rain except for an hour or two on the last morning to step out and take pictures. We knew ahead of time that the breakfast service had stopped for the winter but didn't know that any food service was more than 20 minutes away. With the restaraunt closed there was no one around to ask for any assistance.
