Many thanks for taking time to reviewing your recent visit to the Clachan Inn. We are glad you enjoyed your Sunday lunch, in particular the rice pudding which is one of our most popular desserts.

I was heading towards Maidens on the coast, along with two other (motor)biking friends.
It was wet, windy, we needed a break and we were hungry too! We parked the bikes outside the front door and dived in. On entering we immediately received a friendly greeting and there was an open fire in the grate. The food was good and nicely presented. This inn makes a real effort to please and it shows.

Drove up from the Haugh of Urr on a wild and windy night and so glad that we did, on entering we were greeted by two lovely staff members and a warming fire in the grate. I had the special of briskett bap with sweet potato fries and spicy coleslaw, very very tasty and a generous portion, my wife tried the venison meatballs which were equally good and we both finished off with the belgian waffle with nutella ice cream which was delicious. So many country pubs in the region really don't make the same effort as this establishment which is a pity.We have been many times but not for a while and we will be back again very soon, well done in achieving your award......it is well deserved.

Six of us called in for lunch one very wet Monday. The Inn is decorated in a most attractive way celebrating country sports and interests. Lunch was excellent with no complaints from our party. The lady on duty was most welcoming and interesting to talk to and answered our questions with some humour.

We are glad that we were able to provide some shelter from the rain we have been having recently. The Clachan Inn is open all day, everyday from 12 serving food from 12-2 and from 6-9 in the evening.
We will pass your comments onto the staff member involved.
Thanks for taking the time to post a review and we look forward to seeing you again.

Had a thoroughly enjoyable three night stay at The Clachan Inn recently, as visiting friends in the area, and ate in the restaurant two evenings. This is a very traditional, charming pub that is atmospheric and welcoming. I was travelling with my dog and found The Clachan to be genuinely dog friendly. All the staff I met were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Nice touches such as biscuits as well as tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryer and toiletries were much appreciated. The bathroom could do with a little updating but this is purely aesthetic as everything was very clean and functional. Both evening meals were of an excellent standard and the restaurant was very busy so I was glad I had been advised to book for food. In all a very comfortable, enjoyable and relaxing experience and I would definitely stay here again when in the area.
