The Clachan Inn is situated in an unspoiled village with a few points of interest to wander around. The inn itself is something special with character. Our twin room was basic but clean, the water was hot and the hospitality tray came with good biscuits and hot chocolate. Breakfast was a feast on a plate - including some haggis. It was prepared to order so was hot.

We discovered this place walking the SUW and on refusing to eat in the substandard digs were were staying at down the hill, we attended here. As soon as we walked in it was a warm welcome from the staff and nice cold pints of beer!. The specials menu was creative and the food was second to none. If you had to descibe a scottish pub to someone who does not reside here then this would be it. A great scottish pub with a warm welcome and great food.

We called in here on the recommendation of a local, one of the best recommendations we've had. The place doesn't look much from the outside and is very much a traditional pub inside. The food was fabulous, they do some basic pub grub (toasted sandwiches/paninis, jacket spuds) but along side this there is some really restaurant style food. One of us had a toastie, the other had belly pork on a bed of creamy mash, served with puy lentils, bacon and Savoy cabbage in a lovely creamy sauce. It was the best belly pork I have ever had. I would thoroughly recommend this place to anybody who wanted good quality and value for money. Also excellent friendly service and dogs on leads are allowed.

Good sized rooms clean but tired decor and carpets , but this is a centre for walkers. The managers were extremely welcoming and the food was excellent especially the the fillet steak and haggis oatcake starter. Good service.

nice welcoming staff, good beers, good atmosphere and brilliant food that is really good value. Went 3 times over a week while on holiday and particularly good was the fish and chips, the pork belly and the hallibut.

I have visited this bar a number of times and enjoyed the food and ale on every occasion. Prices represent good value for money. It is undoubtedly the best bar/eatery in the area. The management are particularly welcoming and have made a real success of the Clachan - especially considering it was closed for almost a year before they took it on. Definitely recommend a visit!

Keep up the good work.
