We decided to give The Spice Route a try during our holiday to Loch Eriboll. We are so glad to find a source of a our favourite food in our favourite location.

Lucy turned up right on time to the Durness car park in the little red curry car. The meal was packed really well with all the necessary instructions for reheating.

We tried the butter chicken, chicken balinese, plain Naan , garlic and coriander Naan and some boneless ribs. Everything was very tasty with generous amount of chicken. The naans were lovely and light and the boneless ribs were soft and sticky with bundles of flavour.

Wouldn't hesitate to recommend The Spice Route to anyone visiting / living in the area.

See you again next time.

Our first experience of The Spice Route with their delicious authentic food was amazing.
Real ground and whole spices, huge pieces of chicken in both the Kozhy Kuruma and the Balinese Chicken made both dishes very tasty and we will certainly be back again the next time we're in 'town'.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review of our food, we are so pleased you enjoyed the dishes. We buy whole Scottish Free Range Chickens from Gavin's Traditional Butchers in Dornoch so cannot take all the credit! Look forward to seeing you again.

I have recently relocated to the North West coast and one of my main fears was the potential lack of decent take-out food for Friday nights…

I couldn't believe the quality of the first Indian meal I had from The Spice Route - easily on a par (if not slightly better) than my favourite Indian restaurant in Glasgow, the curry capital of the UK!

What a find! Delighted.

We are so pleased you enjoyed our food and to be considered on par with establishments in Scotland's Curry Capital is quite humbling, our friends and colleagues in India should really have the credit for teaching us so well! Thanks for taking the time to submit a review, oh and we should have the Kerala Lamb on the menu very soon.

We were assigned to work in the area for 3 weeks solid over Christmas and Hogmanay, and because of the nature of the work, were unable to leave the 'patch' at any time during those 3 weeks. As there was only one other place to eat out within the area, we were DELIGHTED to find The Spice Route! What a pleasure! In a wild and remote area such as this corner of Sutherland, innovation, and 'thinking out of the box' really come into their own, and to order your food by phone, and then meet 'The Little Red Car' in a lay-by at pre set times to find a perfect pre-packed meal ready to re heat and enjoy was very special. Not only that! If you want a meal outside these times, a phone call and directions to Anam Cara Croft, and you can pick it up! (and wow you DO need the directions) And that's just the beginning! The food is outstanding! A wide choice of authentic Indian and South Asian dishes, perfectly cooked , beautifully balanced, and so delicately spiced , that every mouthful is a delight. It is simply outstanding in every way, from the unique concept, to the perfect execution. To top it all such lovely helpful and interesting people! It is places, people and experiences like this that make the North Highlands such a wonderful place to live.

We travel up to Sutherland a lot to visit my dad and now it's a necessary part of the trip to order a curry from The Spice Route - and take curries back to Glasgow, that's how good they are. We like Glasgow curries but these are wonderfully different. I've told Mike & Lucy I could live on their Butter Chicken alone, but then I tried their Onion Pakora. Oh my. Our trips tend not to to fit in with the established drop off places and times but we just order by email and pick up from their house, fresh or frozen curries to suit us. They haven't even put us off when they were getting ready to cater for one of their popular music nights the following day.
Can't recommend them highly enough, but don't go buying up all their stock, we've got another trip coming up very soon.

We are so pleased you enjoy our food and to know it's enjoyed in the Curry Capital of Scotland is just fantastic. We are busy working on some new recipes over the winter and will ensure to keep our freezer stocked for your next trip North. Many thanks for taking the time to post a review, look forward to seeing you soon.
