Spacious, comfortable, well appointed, and great views with cattle and sheep for neighbors. Anne was we coming and full of information about activities and features of the area. Lots of walks and beautiful scenery on drives. Just what we were looking for.
My husband and I stayed in Lorna's Cottage for 10 days. The cottage is very comfortable, very clean and is well equipped with everything you need for an enjoyable holiday. The views from most rooms are wonderful. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The large separate shower was very nice. We would be very happy to stay here again.
Balinoe Croft was a perfect base for our week away. A lovely cottage very well equipped and comfortably furnished with a stunning view over the Kyle of Sutherland.
Having never been to the area before we went with our 2 children aged 6 and 5.
The cottage is in a very accessible yet private location.
Country walks, Embo beach, agriculture show, Shin Falls, salmon leaping kept us all thoroughly entertained!
The cottage has 2 very decent sized bedrooms, a double and twin. The beds are super comfy which was much appreciated after active filled days out.
The kitchen is fully equipped with every pot, pan, crockery, utensils we needed, all in excellent condition. Even supplied fresh free range eggs!
The living/dining room is something else! The French doors open out to breathtaking views of the Kyle of Sutherland. After we put the kids to bed we sat out and watched sunset, very peaceful and stunning. On cooler evenings we sat in and took advantage of the wood burner which made for cosy nights in.
The cottage is of a very high standard, the care and attention gone into every room is evident, every detail has been thought of and catered for.
Anne and Robert are very friendly & knowledgeable hosts. They added to the enjoyment.
This place has become a family favourite and we will definitely be back.
We had an amazing family break at Lorna's Cottage, using it springboard for visits to the local beach at Dornoch and forest walks in the surrounding estates. There was plenty to do in the local area, with biking, canoeing and many other activities with easy reach.
The cottage itself had wonderful views over the Kyle and surrounding hills. The living room opened up onto a patio where we sat at night, watching and listening to the local wildlife. The binoculars provided were a thoughtful touch!
In practical terms the cottage was very well equipped, very comfortable and beautifully furnished. We immediately felt at home and everything you could need for a self-catering stay was provided.
The Henderson were very welcoming and hospitable, with great suggestions of things to do in the area. This accommodation was ideal for our busy break but I can imagine a great break spent without leaving the cottage and grounds. Highly recommended.
