“Perfect home from home in a beautiful village.”
Reviewed July 8, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

This was the fourth time we had stayed at Courtburn Cottage. It was, as ever, comfortable and welcoming. It is a perfect getaway cottage for a couple, not too big but enough room to spread out a little. The kitchen is well equipped, the living space comfortable with a dining table and comfy sofa and chair. The view from the living space is onto the owners spectacular garden. The bedroom is downstairs with a lovely view onto the courtyard garden where we have often sat and had afternoon tea or drinks in the evening. Coldingham is a delightful border village with several walks, most of which can take you to Coldingham Bay, which is a perfect horseshoe with golden sand, waves and rocks to explore. The walk into St Abbs via the beach has to be taken as the views are spectacular and St Abbs has a lovely cafe in the village and two others on the way to St Abbs head. We love the cottage and Coldingham and are thinking about when we can make our next visit.

“We were NOT ready to leave!”
Reviewed September 1, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We had a wonderful week at Courtburn Cottage and we were not ready to go home-we'd have liked another week there. It was great for walking, cycling, painting and for visiting local attractions. The owners were hospitable and approachable. They offered to store my bike in their garage. Two local pubs and a convenience store all within a couple of minutes walking distance. Coldingham Sands is only about a 15-20 minute walk away and the lanes around this area were so quiet and great for cycling. We found the bed to be very comfortable and the bedroom very quiet at night ensuring a great night's sleep. We would definitely return to this cottage and we have already recommended it to friends.

“Cosy break”

Lovely cottage, well maintained and very cosy. Great location, with only a 5 min drive to the beach which was stunning and is great for a nice walk. Susie and her husband were very helpful and welcoming.

Couple of points to feedback, the double bed, which was very cosy, had 2 single duvets. We did not mind so much but some couple might. Also the kitchen has an all in one oven/grill/microwave with made cooking dinner a bit awkward but ours worked out well.

Perfect break to unwind and relax

“A warm welcome at a comfortable cottage in a great location.”
Reviewed January 8, 2015 for a stay in December 2014

This cottage had everything we needed - it was well equipped and comfortable and was in a great location. There was on site parking, and it was a short walk to the pubs, shop and beach.

“Cosy cottage, wonderful location”
Reviewed June 21, 2014 for a stay in June 2014

A compact but very comfortable cottage, well equipped (the combi-microwave serves adequately as grill and oven, plus a 4-ring hob). Good shower, quality bedlinen and plenty of towels including bath sheets. In the centre of the village but very little road noise at night. A delightful private sitting area catching the afternoon and evening sun. Good village facilities but also close to Eyemouth (resident seals in harbour) and Berwick has several large supermarkets. An easy walk to the beach or out into the countryside; St Abb's Head has large seabird colonies in season. Susie and Andy very welcoming and helpful. Highly recommended!
