Return visit to this property ,been here 5 years ago.
Thank goodness nothing has changed except the staff but not the grouchy, unhappy and unmotivated Barman
Breakfast as bad as ever, only cooked to order are the eggs, everything else ,precooked.
Soggy Hasbrowns,Overcooked and dry Sausage. (According to a cook it's perfect when it comes out of the oven and then the air oxides ,thus the dark brown color......Amazing statement ,should bee a Chemist not a Cook!
Rooms smell musky, like smoking room.Used a whole can of deodorizer to no prevail ,it still smells musky.
Furniture and carpets need updating.
Room Safe did not work, maintenance replaced the door system 3 times....still does not work. These safes are antique and outdated.
Beeches are hard to get too,if you carry a cooler and chairs, many step up and down over the dunes.Try the small pool instead ,even though the Hottub did not work.
This property needs major work to have a Embassy Suite name.
Maybe it will take another 5 years.

There are many perks to this hotel and few drawbacks. The staff are all very nice and greet you when you walk by. The free breakfast is good but not great. The sausage seems to be notoriously burnt to hell but there are plenty of other good items. Free drinks at happy hour, can't beat it! We stayed on the 4th floor and didn't hear any breakast or happy hour people. The rooms are spacious and clean. My only drawback from the whole experience was the musty smell when you enter the rooms like it was formerly a smoking room or just damp. Overall a great stay. Take note Embassy you will probably have to update all of your rooms when the new Hampton Inn opens to stay competitive. Happy Travels.

We stay at this hotel everytime we visit Destin. The free cook to order breakfast and happy hour makes this a great deal. Yes, the rooms might not be cleaned to my standards during the stay but they are huge suites and comfortable beds. We actually ate at the onsite restaurant 2 of our 3 nights and it was surprisingly affordable and delicious. The Calypso Cafe offered seafood and typical grill food but it was the same if not better than I would expect at many of the "tourist trap" restaurants on the beach. We had the Fried Lobster Club and Lemongrass shrimp and scallops...both were to die for! If you are looking for a relaxing place to stay at the beach, the Embassy Suites has you covered.

Room Tip: Most of the rooms do not face the ocean. If you would like a view, request a room on the 4th floor facing the ocean. They are more than accomodating if the rooms are available.

Clean rooms, restaurant by the lobby was excellent, very friendly staff. Very roomy, really enjoyed our stay here would definately recommend. Good location with easy access to dining and entertainment in Destin and the Sandestin area. Sandestin baytowne wharf is only a block away and beach is within walking distance.

We just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel for our Labor Day vacation to Destin, FL. This hotel is at an awesome location - the beach is right across the road - 3-4 minutes at the most. Its clean, clear wates, beautiful white sand beach. You can get as many beach towels as you want from the front desk. They also have a beach umbrella and chair service (for a price) which we did not use.
The service is spectacular - the crib was in our room just like we had asked for on the website - on the first night, my 16 month old was a little cranky about food - my wife asked the hotel staff if we could get some yogurt and they gladly gave us a couple of yogurts from their kitchen (from their breakfast stash). As he was playing around in the lobby - the manager gave him a beach toys set compliments of the hotel - the housekeeping lady always had a smile.
The person who made the omblettes in the morning was awesome - great smile and good conversation. The complimentary breakfast is pretty huge - the only compliant is that they dont change the hot items in the breakfast and it becomes boring after a couple of days. We took part in the manager's reception one night - some simple snacks but all you can drink beer, wine or mixed drinks. The bar tender was a little on the reserved/grouchy side but we didnt let his attitude spoil our fun. We also had dinner at the hotel restaurant one night - which was pretty good - it was a sunday night - so they seemed a little short staffed - just one waiter - But that kid was Awesome - running around and managing about 10 tables all with a smile and great attitude.
The atrium area is beautiful with fountains and trees. My 16 month old loved it so much that he spent most of his time in the hotel walking around there. He was smiling and playing with all the guests and hotel employees all of whom seemed to have a smile and fantastic attitude.
We didnt use the pool - but it seemed small and it was on the side of the hotel next to the parking lot - so not a great location for a pool.
The hotel location is awesome. All attractions are within a 10 mile radius - the outlet mall is a 2 min drive, great restaurants are all within 5 min driving distance and the beach is right across the street. Highly recommended.

Room Tip: If possible, try and head to breakfast early because after around 9 AM - the lines at the Omblette station starts to queue up
