“Excellent lunch stop”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 16, 2013

Stopped for a sandwich and coffee on our way to Crieff, glad we missed the Barley Bree and went in here! Excellent bread, ham, etc and very pleasant owner who gave us voucher for discount at Drummond Gardens, do go and visit this establishment.

“Perfect Pit Stop”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 22, 2013

Stopped by on a bike ride through Stirlingshire for a well needed coffee and cake. It was quiet and the friendly owners were happy to welcome 4 sweaty roadies and have a chat. Great brownie too - kept me going to the top of the hill outside town.. almost.

“Excellent Lemon Drizzle!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 9, 2013

After a 5 mile walk through the cold and rain on Sunday, the Birdhouse Bakery was a welcome sight. We would have been happy with anything to heat us up at that point, but to our delight we were treated to wonderful cappuccino and lemon drizzle cake. There was a wide variety of home baking on offer and the portions were generous. The cups and saucers all look like they have been sourced from a charity shop, but it sort of adds to the unique character of the cafe.

We were staying round the corner at the Barley Bree, which gets great accolades for its food, but if the truth be told, I enjoyed my cake and coffee at this quaint eatery, more than the salty French delicacies that were served up over the rest of the weekend.

Well worth a visit if you are passing through Muthill.

“Coffee and walnut cake to die for!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 1, 2013

Touring the area over Easter we called in at the Birdhouse Bakery and Tea Room purely by chance and discovered quite a special place. Tea served in delicate, mixed design, bone china tea cups and saucers. We tried the 'Stovies' and soda bread which was totally delicious. But most of all we enjoyed the coffee and walnut cake. Light, well balanced flavour and just enough, smooth, butter cream. Really Yummy. Would have like to have tried more as everything looked wonderful.

“Afternoon tea: a delightful experience with a vintage feel.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 9, 2013 via mobile

Recommended to us and we were not disappointed. The afternoon tea was delicious; freshly made and a super mixture of sandwiches, scones and cakes served in a selection of vintage china. Leftovers were wrapped to take home.
The service was excellent and the owner was friendly and attentive making her customers feel very welcome.
We would definitely go back and also recommend to others.
