“First Rate B&B”

We had a very warm welcome from the owner and found this a comfortable and well equipped B&B. The room was spacious and there was plenty of hot water for a very welcome bath when we arrived after a long day's driving. The local pub is a 10 minute walk and served good reliable bar food at reasonable prices. Breakfast was excellent and all in all we thought this was great value for money. We have no hesitation in recommending it as a very good overnight stop or a good base for a few days in a lovely area.

Stayed for 3 nights at Lyn Leven in September with a couple of friends. We found the whole experience just extremely pleasant - the rooms were cosy and functional, the living room was also pleasant, and the breakfast room had a beautiful view. The heating had been turned on for our arrival which was a nice surprise. The hostess was very friendly but not overbearing, and was keen to make our stay pleasant. The breakfast was nice (although nothing out of the ordinary). The location is absolutely stunning, withing walking distance of a nice pub and within a few minutes drive of absolutely stunning countryside. All in all a very happy stay.

We are touring Scotland and stayed at Lyn Leven for two nights. We received a warm welcome and the breakfasts were good. We had a nice room with all the little extras that made our stay enjoyable. One niggle worth mentioning, was the mattress was a little bit 'lumpy'and perhaps past its best os not the best sleep.. In all fairness, I doubt our host would be aware of this unless she slept in it! So overall, a good stay in a nice bungalow in a lovely village.

We were supposed to stay in Fort William as part of our cycling Lands End to John O'Groats but due to atrocious weather we had to find somewhere else in Glencoe that was closer than Fort William to stop and get dry and refreshed.

This was a fantastic choice, the rooms and beds were excellent, the owner was very friendly and provided us with everything we required (including a room with a much needed bath!!!).

We stored our bikes in the garage across the road.

Breakfast was great.

The hotels location is fantastic as it allowed us to easily get back on track the following day to Fort William onwards.

Just completed our 10th stay at Lyn Leven. Why do we go back there year after year? Cilla MaCleod has run this lovely extended bungalow for years and is an expert in how to welcome guests to her home which has panoramic views across the Loch to the north and Glencoe to the south. Huge breakfasts are served by cheery staff in the bow windowed conservatory and the guests are truly international making socialising in the comfortable lounge such a pleasure. The bedrooms are spacious, and impecably clean with lovely en-suites, colour tv, radio,wi-fi, tea and coffee etc are all provided and at only £66 a night for a room (which hasn't gone up for years!) this has to be some of the best value in Scotland as all the entries in Cilla's visitor book seem to confirm. And thats exactly why we come back here year after year!

As one of 16 overnight stops on a LEJOG cycle challenge, this b&b provided everything we needed - it was clean, comfortable, close to the route and near a place to eat in the evening.
The rooms are spacious and breakfast was good too.

Our original plan was to climb out of the back of Ballachulish round to a mountain bothy to 'rough it' for a couple of nights but the bad weather got the better of us, forcing us back into town and to seek the shelter of a pub and more importantly, a bed for the night!
When we rang the bell, we were met by the owner who welcomed us in and showed us to the only available room which was just fine for us. We offloaded our gear, dried off a bit and went back to the pub for dinner.
The TV's are a bit old and the digital boxes could do with a stronger signal, but it's nothing to complain about since the important channels were there. We both slept well and had a great breakfast in the morning.
All in all, a pleasurable experience for an unexpected stay.

Room Tip: No tips to give as the whole area is very peaceful and the room we had was very warm
