It's been a while since we stayed there but I have to say that things have improved. We stayed in the largest room - although suite would better describe it. Previous stays were not bad - but things have just got better! Had a great meal - although charging £9.50 for 3 langoustine is a bit steep (especially if they are caught locally - and had your specials board stated 3 langoustine for the price, I wouldn't have ordered them - and there was no specialised seafood cutlery for those tasty claws). But the rest of the meal was good - and a decent wine available, too. Fab breakfast. The conservatory is lovely - a vast improvement on before. We'll be back - only 3.5 hours from Glasgow - it's worth it!!!!

Room Tip: Choose the largest room - loch views and suite like proportions.

Had a evening meal here last Saturday evening with some friends. This hotel has obviously been upgraded recently to a very high standard. Fine conservatory with oak beams and cosy public bar with good real ale and wines. The meal was served promptly. I had pickled mackerel to start and steak for main course. Both were beautifully cooked. Well done to the staff in the front of house and the kitchen. I am now planning to go back for a weekend stay with my wife. PS A must see is the mirror in the gents toilet!

It's quiet. So very quiet. But a good, peaceful quiet. Only stayed one night, would love to have stayed longer but had many miles to cover. Lovely little "loch" (I learned even the tiny ones are still lochs) just a short walk in the woods away. Just watch out for midges. Had a nice dinner in the restaurant downstairs. Unfortunately I missed breakfast as I had to hit the road early the following morning. If you care to visit the most westerly point on the UK mainland, Ardnamurchan Point (and lighthouse) are a wee drive away. Just beware the narrow roads. The locals drive faster than you can imagine.

We booked late today and had Sunday lunch here. We were overjoyed to see an old revered cook we knew from the past is now working here. I ordered the smoked meat platter with salad and my wife chose the Leek and Potato soup.My plate was generous and tasty and I had a spoon of her soup which revealed that the leeks had been sweated in butter beforehand which made trhe soup taste glorious. My main course was exquisitely cooked battered haddock with french fries and salad. She had the roast chicken with bread sauce that went down very well. Matthew our waiter ensured that we were happy and mein host kept circulating with friendly comments. It is a delight to find wonderfully cooked food of local provenance in such genial and attractive surroundings. We will be back very soon.

We chose to have Friday lunch here on a wet friday lunchtime whilst holidaying in the area. We were welcomed and shown to a table in the conservatory with views over the loch and were served by friendly staff. The menu was varied, the food fresh and very tasty. We had a very pleasant experience here and would definitely visit again, possibly to sample the evening fare.
