Our trip did not start out well as our car broke down a few miles from the guest house. It's a very rural location, with single track roads - not the best place for a breakdown! One call to Emma, the owner, and everything was fine. She kindly came and picked us up, helped push the car off the road and contacted the local garage. When we arrived at the guesthouse itself we were not disappointed. We stayed in the (dog friendly) self catering apartment and it was beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. Everything you need is provided, including a selection of DVD's. We ate in the restaurant a couple of times (breakfast and dinner) and the food was lovely, you get the impression everything is sourced locally and very fresh. As we were unexpectedly car-less for the duration of our stay we didn't venture much outside the guesthouse but that was not a bad thing. Emma kept in contact with the garage for us and offered us a lift to the local shop. All in all I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Emma went above and beyond helping us out which we were very grateful for. If you are looking for a peaceful retreat for a few days with good food and excellent customer service I would definitely put Mingarry Park Guest House at the top of your list.

Stumbled on this real gem of a place while browsing the web looking for a one night stay in this lovely corner of Scotland. Trust me it's worth a visit, but do it now before the word gets out!

Yes, anyone with the required financial backing can tranform a property into luxurious accommodation such as this. But can they guarantee stunning local scenery as found in the Ardnamurachan penisula? Can they provide the same level of 'genuine' hospitality as Emma and John do?

I'm a seasoned traveller at home and abroad, (of more years than I will admit to!) and would rate this place, £ for £, 'as good as it gets'

Room Tip: Book early or the rooms won't be there! The 'Dorlin' is a lovely spacious room on the ground floor with great views and the shortest of 'staggers' to your breakfast table where you will be served with your choice from an excellent range of fresh produce.

We recently enjoyed a lovely one-night stay at Mingarry Park, courtesy of a Red Letter Day Gift Experience. I can only echo the comments of previous reviewers in saying that the accommodation is first class, clean and tastefully decorated. I am sure you will not find better elsewhere, nor will you receive such a warm welcome as we did from Emma and John.

We loved staying in the spacious Moidart room with its private balcony and fantastic views. Breakfast the next morning was great too, beautifully cooked and presented with plenty to choose from.

Would not hesitate to recommend and hopefully one day return...albeit when the weather improves!

Had a lovely 3 night stay at Mingarry Park, our room was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. The breakfasts were fantastic with a good range of choices, we booked dinner for the 3 nights fantastic value for lovely home cooked food. Emma and John were very welcoming and Emma makes a fab gin and tonic! Looking forward to another stay.

Ardgour and the Ardnamurchan peninsula may take some time to get to but when you arrive at Mingarry Park you'll realise it's well worth the trip. Emma and John provide a personal welcome (so does 4 month old Dipper the American Hunt Terrier) to the newly refurbished Guest House. Warm and cosy the minute you walk in the door - very welcome on a cold day. Breakfast is very good and Emma will do a three course meal on request which was excellent - alcohol is also available. If you are lucky there will be live ceilidh music in 'An Bothan' the little stone croft bar and if you feel the need to dance the gravel car park outside under the stars is spacious! The bedrooms are lovely and comfortable and well appointed. A great couple of days on the West Coast made even better by our stay at Mingarry - can't recommend it enough!

Room Tip: All rooms are very good - we stayed in the Moidart which has stunning views and a balcony
