What a gem of a place! Comfortable doesn't actually describe the place - it goes beyond that. Food was amazing too. Beautiful gardens and stunning scenery.

They say they are dog friendly when in fact they are not, I was staying in Acharacle and booked a table, they took the booking even though I said we would be bringing 3 well behaved Bedlington Terriers, we arrived on the day and it was raining and wad told dogs were not allowed in the resturaunt, we left and then found a resturaunt in Salen called the salen hotel which we fantastic and extremely accommodating to dog owners.

What a find. The food and menu was an absolute delight. Cooked to order and beautifully presented. Worthy of a Mitchelin star.

We stayed at the Ardshealach Lodge for three nights in June and felt very pleased with ourselves to have let upon this little gem. Our bedroom overlooked Loch Sheil and we had a cosy Queen bed that had us sleeping like babies. The breakfasts were very good with fantastic muesli and a great choice of cooked breakfast and plenty of it. We ate at the Lodge each night with a menu that had new choices every night. The food was beautiful, Gill uses fresh local produce and is not skinny with her portion sizes and prices are very reasonable. She also has a good selection of well priced wines and the staff she employs are well trained, very friendly and attentive. If you want a stroll after dinner to walk off some of the calories there is a lovely walk down to the Loch or Gill invites you to look around her garden which has beautiful plantings and an enviable veg and fruit garden. There is plenty to see within an hours drive of the Lodge and the countryside is truly stunning.

We were lucky enough to be recommended to the Ardshealach Lodge restaurant and it certainly didn’t fail to disappoint. The place itself has a lovely homely feel and the staff couldn’t have been more polite. The views while you’re having a pre-dinner drink are fantastic (we were fortunate that the sun was shining). As for the food – really lovely. Would definitely recommend a visit if you’re in the area.
