This was my first A/L after a long hard shift at work. First of all , it has one of my favourite craft beers on tap - a good start.
But it's the food... Wow!
I have eaten at the best in Oban "The seafood capital of Scotland" but have not experienced anything nearly as tasty as this. It's like it has has had a sprinkling of magic dust.
I have never been compelled to post before and I am loath to, because next time YOU might get the last room before me!
Thankfully my wife and I are booked in again for the Kayak Ways, Greenland rolling tuition being held in the vicinity in July so will be back then.
So, if you appreciate the best, this is the hotel for you. Stay and you will be enchanted.

Stayed here overnight while kayaking at the kyles of bute. Fantastic location right next to the ferry. Nice clean rooms , good shower . But the star of the show was the food in the bar. Fantastic seafood and steaks. Patricia , the owner, was terrific. Busy, friendly and organised. Will take my wife for lunch soon

Very warm welcome - literally, with the fire roaring away delightfully - at this lovely country inn. Excellent and imaginative food, served with a smile (and on some most attractive and unusual plates). Shame it was only a lunchtime visit; next time will aim to stay longer.

Brilliant hotel, excellent service, the warmest of welcomes you immediately felt at home. Log fires, great wee pub, and very inviting dining room and lounge, They are passionate about sourcing local food, in particular locally caught seafood. Patricia and her staff make sure everything is perfect. Four well appointed bedrooms, and stunning views. The new Eilean Dhu House is utterly fabulous, get a group together and you will find it hard to enjoy any better accommodation with dining in the hotel. We loved this hotel it is a real find, and we will most definitely be back. Delighted to recommend this lovely wee spot in the West

Room Tip: Book a sea view room you will awake to the wonderful views of the Kyles of Bute

Patricia and her team did a fantastic job of my husband's 50th birthday celebrations. The additional accommodation in the newly completed Eilean Dhu was nothing short of stunning and our reception there before dinner was a huge success. Dinner in the Hotel was to Patricia's usual high standards and the disco was a blast! Many of our guests who had never been to Colintraive before vowed to return to the Hotel or to rent Eilean Dhu.

Room Tip: Although not officially part of the Hotel the accommodation in Eilean Dhu which is adjacent to the H...

We were staying nearby to the Colintraive Hotel & were recommended to go there to spend a few hours having have lunch. I had been hoping to find a hidden gem with great local produce & super food however I didn't hold out much hope...how wrong I was!! We were welcomed by friendly & courteous staff into a lovely bar area with a wood burning stove. The blackboard in the bar displayed an excellent menu which promised much & I am glad to say delivered on every level. We had the scallops, langoustines & rib eye & all were delicious. By the way, make sure to read all of the blackboard as it is a mine of information about The Colintraive & all it has to offer, & more, as well as being reassuringly quirky! The owner Patricia came over for a chat with us & by the end of the conversation it was evident that she is committed serving the best quality local produce, properly cooked in a lovely country hotel. I would wholeheartedly recommend you visit Patricia & the Colintraive.....you would be foolish to miss out! John, Belfast.
