Glendavan House
Ranked #1 of 1 Dinnet B&B and Inns
Reviewed April 18, 2014

It is really amazing, completely different to any other B&B we have been.
It is also expensive, but it's worth it.

The host were excellent and they made a reservation for us on an excellent restaurant (They ask us before and It was not expensive at all). After showing us the rooms they dissapeared (Of course they were available on their side of the house), so we had a lot of freedom there.

The huge and excellent rooms and the squirrels eating close to us completed that experience.

We do not use to go to that places (because of the price) but we really recommend you that place.

Beautiful house, fantastic hosts, just wanted to stay longer. Stayed in the Ogston Suite, looks good in the photos but it's even better in real life, very spacious, elegant decor, great facilities. Hamper on first night was crummy and loads of food.lovely to have the fire lit ready for us as part of the lovely friendly welcome. We wished that we had stayed in on the second night to make the most of our time there. We will most definitely be returning as its perfect for us for a short break with some good walks close by.
Many thanks to Allan, Moira and especially Rebecca for making us feel so welcome and looking after their guest so very well.

We stayed here for our first childfree weekend in months. We had a gruesome journey to get here, 3 hour journey ended up taking around 9 hours due to car problems. All the time we spoke to owners to keep them updated about our later and later arrival. Nothing was too much of a problem for them. They even offered to come and pick us up from Aboyne at 11pm where our car was abandoned at a local garage, and took us the 7 miles there the following day. Very helpful, and as I say, nothing was a problem for them.
When we arrived the fire in our suite was blazing and very welcoming, as was the fish hamper we had ordered via a local deli. Recommended.
The Trantor suite was wonderful, four poster bed, exceptionally comfy, warm and welcoming private lounge, plus the two rooms that make up the Wc/ Victorian roll top bath.
The price we paid I think was £120 per night b & b, the luxury you get for the suite I expect is without equal in most places in Scotland. We will be going back.
And red squirrels, sunny Scotland, and such hospitality, what can I say. Treat yourself, you will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: Trantor was great-your own private log fire in the living room of the suite.

We stayed 2 nights at this wonderful home, and decided within hours that it simply was not enough time. Alan, Moira and Rebecca are warm and caring and will go the extra mile to make you feel comfy and welcome. Their home is just gorgeous as are thier breakfasts. The room/suites are well thought of and beutifully presented.
Wi-fi was good and fast, no problems while using and there is plenty of parking available
We stayed in the Trantor suite and while it was great, next time we will be booking the Ogston suite so that I can spend any spare sitting time watching the sweet little red squirrels and all the birdies.....teeny tiny they are some of them.
We highly recommend this home B & B, and if possible, book a few days rather than one or two, because you will just want to!
We will be back!
Thank you to the Milne family

My sister and I stayed in the Glendavan House for what started to be three nights and ended being eight. She had the Ogston Suite with the conservatory and I the Trantor Suite. We both had nice fire places with fresh fires laid daily with plenty of wood or coal to make for nice cozy sitting rooms. We arrived later than expected and Moira made us delicious sweet potato & squash soup as it was too late to go out for dinner that evening. It was a just great and the fresh bread was a great addition along with a glass of wine. Breakfast was cooked to order each day by Rebecca who is also delighted to fill you in on what to see and where to go while at Glendavan House. The last day I showed her a picture of a place I had hoped to see, but could not find. She told me it was in a park just down the road from the house, not a five minute drive. On the coldest sunny day my sister sat in the conservatory with her back to the sun and took a nap. Naps there were nice or also in front of the fire with your feet propped up and a nice hot coffee and a bit of scotch to help ward off the chill. Alan was always around when fires needed a little extra attention or to light them or keep them going when you were out for dinner. It was nice to return to a warm fire after going out for a bite. We were in Europe and the British Isles for over six weeks and this was truly our favorite spot of all. We are already planning our next trip. Never enough time in Glendavan House!!!

Room Tip: Staying at Glendavan House guarantees a good room whether you choose a room or a suite.

I have never stayed at a more welcoming and beautiful place. I stayed in the Tranter suite and I felt like a laird. The outside grounds have views of a loch through the trees that are alive with very cute red squirrels. I will be back. Stunning!

We went for the second time in Glendavan House in october. The house is truly magnificent and so the furniture and decoration. Excellent service and breakfast. Located in the Cairngorns, it's a nice place for walkers and nature lovers. But this place would not be perfect without warm welcome of the Milne family, delicate and thoughtful...It seems that the time stops in such places... Deeply recommended !
