You couldn't find a more helpful and lovely person in Margaret, the wonderful lady who owns this most delightful cottage. She made sure she was on hand to show us around her house when we arrived after 9pm, had very kindly made us up the fire, which is always a homely touch and her homemade pancakes are delicious. This 2 storey detached bungalow, with a large private drive, has everything you could need, we've never cooked on an Aga before, but after the first go, we definately wanted one for ourselves. There are 2 large bathrooms, one with a shower and the other with a bath, with a further ensuite bathroom upstairs. The bedrooms are all a good size, as are all the rooms, it was so nice siting in the kitchen eating breakfast next to the warm Aga, looking out at the birds in the garden. There is also a handy washing machine. The cottage is set in a quiet and peaceful area, with friendly neighbours The small village of Lisbellaw has all you could need, there is a Spar shop, 2 takeaways, a pharmacy, butchers and hardware store, all within 5/10 minutes walking Enniskillen is just 5 minutes drive away with larger supermarkets and a good town. The surrounding countryside is beautiful, with plenty of places to visit. But as this was our first time to Ireland, we decided to go further afield and Belfast and Dublin are easy to get to both no more than 2 hours away. In fact we managed to go to the Giants Causeway, Donegal, Londonderry and go along part of the Wild Atlantic Way all within/up to 90 minutes drive there. All in all, Kinard Cottage is a little gem, as is it's owner, Margaret, who really can't do enough for you. We were all sorry to leave after 10 days, and can't wait to return one day.
