“In the Mournes area”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 3, 2013

The food was really well cooked and presented and was particularly pleased with the cupa soup idea, which was excellent value for money and a great start to the meal. Has a nice little bar and quite cosy. Parking off the main road in front of the bar and has an outside drinks meal are to the rear but on warm days. It was snowy when I was there.

“Worth a visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 3, 2013

We had a light lunch. Seafood chowder with wonderful Dundrum Bay muscles. One of us had a dish which simply said fresh soda bread [not farl] with cheese and garlic which he pronounced lovely. Ambiance friendly and lot of locals eating there. Service good.

“Fabulous food. Cosy atmosphere. Highly recommended”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 1, 2013 via mobile

Have eaten here a few times. Never disappoints.

Would recommend the patè to start!
Food quality amazing.

Service is average.
Definitely not memorable or warm. Which is a bit of a shame- lacks a chatty host.

However the food/decor/atmosphere all make up for it!!

Stop off, or make a point of driving there- you won't regret it

“A meal to remember”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 30, 2013

Excellent restaurant with very friendly staff. Hadn't booked and were on our way in taxi to another restaurant but taxi driver suggested we eat in Buck's Head instead. So glad we did. My son had chicken and said it was the best he had ever tasted. Will certainly be back when in the area again

“A Warm Place to Shelter on a Cold Day”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 27, 2013

Dropped in here on the recommendation of a friend while out for a drive with my mother. Staff welcoming, helpful and attentive throughout. The setting was very pleasant and there was a roaring (gas) fire to add to the ambience. The menu was challenging, decision wise, but we both plumped for Cod and Chips and were not disappointed. Delicious battered fish, large crisp floury chips and minted garden peas. After dinner coffee was very nice and the biscuits rather fetching.

Plan to retur with the rest of my family, and any friends who would be able to drop in sometime in August.
