Stayed here as part of the luxury overnight stay offer with Balloo House. The only minor gripe we had was trying to find the house in the dark and not being sure if we had the right place when we first arrived but this was soon forgotten when we were warmly greeted by our host Jenny. The room we stayed in was large and comfortable with a massive ensuite with beautiful free standing bath. The honesty bar at the end of the hall is a lovely touch. Breakfast is one of the best we have come across, good selection and importantly all of excellent quality. Really like the emphasis on locally sourced products. Would definitely stay here again.

Oh dear, I am sorry about the lights. It is a job in hand, the fence our lights were attached to, took a terrible beating in the recent storm so had to come down. I promise by your next stay, we will have it sorted. Glad you enjoyed your stay, and thank you so much for taking the time and trouble to write a review. Your comments ar always welcome. Jenny

This has to be one of the best B&B's in the UK. The location is simply stunning, with views to die for. Room 2 is the best with uninterrupted views over Strangford Lough. Jennifer is a wonderful host and nothing is too much trouble. She is very helpful and her wheaten bread is to die for.
Rooms are well appointed, comfortable and beautifully furnished.
I am planning to come again.

A beautiful place to stay. The welcome and hospitality was superb. The view looked out over Strangford Lough and the room was very comfortable. We were there in the worst of the storms and it made it all the more warm and comfortable.
I'm already thinking about a return visit.

We stayed here in November 2013,just me and my little boy who is five.
I am so lucky that it is only a mile away from my sister's,who we were visiting for the weekend.
It is simply amazing..absolutely beautiful light and airy home with the most welcome hostess you could ever wish for! And the views are just stunning too.
Nothing was too much trouble and we really felt like we were treated like family rather than customers.
The leisurely breakfast was gorgeous ,sitting overlooking the Lough in the morning sun.

Lovely night, SUPERB hosting, delicious breakfast, very friendly, welcoming, bit noisy from other guests until early arms of the morning which was unfortunate for us but they were obviously having a great night!

So sorry you were disturbed by the other guests, that was very unfortunate, but I was totally unaware of any problem. I am glad you enjoyed your stay otherwise, and I hope we will see you again, and I will make sure you have an undisturbed night. Jenny

Hunter's Lodge is a fabulous B&B; we had the room facing the lough - it's a beautiful room, spotless and again spotless bathroom (with great shower). I recommend leaving the shutters open going to bed for that beautiful sunrise. Jenny was a great host, breakfast was excellant, a lovely freshly cooked breakfast with the most delicious home-made bread you have ever had! A nice selection of juices, jams, fruit etc too. The view from the dining room was also fabulous. I would certainly return to Hunter's Lodge & would definitely recommend it to friends. Jenny added little touches like heart-shaped biscuits for our arrival for Valentines - it's little things that make this a special & warm place to stay. And of course great restaurants (Balloo & Daft Eddys) and stunning scenary & lots to do (Castle Espie, Castle Ward just to name a few).

Room Tip: The room facing the lough is worth it for the views but has a shower only. The other room has a lar...

I am delighted that you took the time to review your stay, and so pleased you appreciated your little biscuits as they were baked hurriedly that morning, (the first batch having been scoffed by my son). Ha ha! Thank you so much for your kind remarks, and hope to see you again. Jenny

I booked the deal with dinner at Balloo and from the start the host Jenny was extremely helpful and organised, even when the menu changed she notified me straight away. The room was beautiful and the bath was the best part of the room for me, everything was catered for including an 'honesty' bar and DVDs. All really good, well thought out extras if you wanted them.
The breakfast overlooking the view of the lough was perfect even though it was terribly windy this didn't make a difference. We loved our stay and will be recommending it to family and friends, only wish we were there for longer, but will definitely be back!

Room Tip: The room with the roll top free standing bath is large but the bath is worth it!! it was a very wind...
