We arrived to a very warm welcome from Jenny. She showed us to our rooms which were spacious, spotlessly clean, both with en-suites and lovely little touches such as unexpected toiletries and candles.. It was my birthday and there was a cupcake with candle in our room. The views from our room were just fabulous! The guest rooms are on a separate (top) floor from the family so it doesn't feel, as some guesthouses do, that you are intruding.

Jenny was very informative and gave us lots of information on the local area. We went out for the evening and returned for a very comfortable night's sleep. There is an honesty bar on the landing if you fancy a night cap,

The next morning we had a lovely breakfast, where we had choice of yoghurts, cereals, homemade breads and conserves, a fruit platter and cooked breakfast....I was even offered smoked salmon and scrambled eggs, but chose the full Irish instead. After breakfast we went for a walk, explored the garden and had lots of fun playing on the tennis courts. Lovely memories.

If you need to stay in North Down, I cannot recommend Hunter's Lodge highly enough. We will definitely be back. Thank you very much Jenny for such lovely hospitality.

Room Tip: My favourite room was the larger double with sea views, but my sons who didn't have sea view had...

Stayed at Hunters Lodge for 2 nights while over in Ireland for the Ulster GP. Could not ask for anything better than this to come back to after the racing. Very spacious room, excellent host, nothing was any hassle for Jenny, offers of lifts, store my bike in the garage, super Ulster breakfast and bread to die for, thanks for the one to bring home, and what better way to finish the day than with a bottle of wine from the honesty bar down the bottom of the garden overlooking the lough. Next year will be booked for a definite. Also only a 20 minute walk away is Daft Eddys for really nice food and of course Guinness.

Fantasic experience. Very impressive large house with stunning views. The room was very spacious and really tastefully decorated. The host was exceptionally friendly and helpful and breakfast was also superb. Lots of freshly cut fruit, home made wheaten bread and an excellant cooked breakfast. Will definitetly be back!

A GREAT EXPERIENCE !!!!! I don't know how we did it but we hit a homerun when we booked a stay at Hunter Lodge B&B. The views are stunning, the house is beautiful, the host is the greatest, the food was VERY good. If ever back in Northern Ireland we will book here again.

After managing to eventually secure two whole days off together, my husband and I decided we would visit family in co down and squeeze in a bit of cycling at castle ward whilst there. I found hunters lodge online after a lengthy search for somewhere to stay on the Lough. The room we stayed in was superb complete with roll top bath which I enjoyed a soak in after cycling. The views from the house are first class especially when the weather is so glorious. Jenny made us very welcome and gave us plenty of info on the locality. We walked to daft eddys for a bite, then when we got back we picked up some wine from the honest bar and enjoyed it whilst watching a DVD from the collection provided outside the room. This was truly a relaxing stay, every little detail has been considered. Thanks Jenny

We had a fantastic 5 nights stay at Hunters Lodge at the end of June 2013. We were here to visit some family members and had a lovely time made even better by staying at Hunters Lodge. The lovely location, amazing views of Strangford Loch beautifully cooked Ulster fry breakfast or scrambled eggs etc.,as well as fruit, homemade breads, cereal and fruit juice. Jenny made us feel so at home welcoming us back in at tea time with coffee and cakes we all put a few pounds on. We only ate out twice once at The Balloo Restaurant and once at Daft Eddys both were really good, but we did enjoy Daft Eddys on our last night the staff were so lovely.
We would highly recommend this B & B, everything about it was so lovely. The view from the dining room was amazing, the bedrooms were so comfortable and beautifully furnished all in all we would love to return.
Thank you Jenny for a lovely time.
