A very old, lovely manor with fantastic grounds for taking a leisurely stroll. Only 40 rooms, some of which are in an adjacent cottage, never much noise. My room was exceptionally large by European standards, with a bay window and pseudo-fireplace (a heater in lieu of wood!) which worked perfectly fine. Basic technology (TV and phone access), but the simplicity makes it charming! Very Old World style. Service during sit down dinner was very slow (new staff) and fare reasonable but not the greatest. Breakfast was fair, although I was hoping for potatoes! One complaint was the bathroom, which again was quite large compared to most, but needed some refurbishing... also there wasn't a whole lot of hot water! If you stay here, make time to enjoy the grounds during pleasant weather.
