Not very long, okay for a quick ride but fairly expensive compared to other trips. Better trips available nearby.

Well worth a visit, a lot of hardwork by volanteers goes into keeping this going, great place to visit staff very friendly, cafe available and good, views brilliant, then get ferry to Barmouth if you so wish. Great day out.

Both Fairbourne and the railway have a tired atmosphere - a sense of past their best - however the train and ride are great fun and worth a visit- though in my mind the full fare is a tad expensive. Being high season food was available at Penrhyn Point/Barmouth ferry station.

Fairbourne railway is a minutare railway which takes you to Barmouth. It is very handy if your wanting to go to the beach for the day as you can go on the ferry to the beach and then catch the return back to the train station via the ferry. There is also a model railway which interests kids. The next room has a cafe and gift shop which was very pleasant. The staff were also very friendly.
The train was fun to go on and enjoyable but the biggest problem with the railway is finding it and the leaflets as there seem to be no advertisement . It was good fun for young and old and overall and excellent day.
