“A Night to Remember”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 19, 2013

Not easy to find the superlatives to do justice to this superb restaurant, upon which we stumbled by chance. Outstanding in all respects. On the expensive side - £55 for two - but worth every penny. Some of the best Indian cuisine we've tasted. Congratulations to Noori, the chef. Fairbourne, a dowdy little place well off the beaten track, seems an odd place to find such excellence but charming owner Raj told us he wanted a challenge. Regulars come from as far afield as Shrewsbury to enjoy Noori's food. Not the most extensive menu I've ever seen but with quality like this who needs quantity? Special touches include complimentary appetisers and an opportunity to sample before serving the taste and warmth of one's main course. The restaurant is fairly small - though an extension is planned - therefore it makes sense to book. There is free parking right outside the door.

“A Wondeful Experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 19, 2013

My wife and I had a meal here last Saturday, 14th Sept. The meal was excellent and Raj gave me extra chillies as I like hot curries.

The atmosphere was very relaxing and friendly. We were made to feel special by Raj, his wife and their lovely children. This was more than just a good meal. It was a wonderful experience.

“Best Indian ever”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 18, 2013 via mobile

We were visiting Barmouth for the walking festival and were recommended this restaurant by local residents on the walk. We caught the train from Barmouth and alighted at Fairbourne (7mins) . The welcome was very good we'd booked as only small. The menu choice is not great but adequate we started with a veg and meat platter to share followed by Fish Frankie and a chicken karahi we finished with Indian rice pudding excellent food. We then caught the 2207 back to Barmouth a good evening out

“Best Indian meal ever!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 18, 2013

We were told about Indiana two years ago and couldn't make it until tonight. All that time we have wasted! You can't describe in a review the wonderful complex tastes of the dishes we were served. I had the Coconut Lamb, this choice was a leap of faith as I am not keen on heavy coconut tastes as in Thai cookery. It was a subtle blend of coconut and spices with a little pile of grated ginger own top. We had the vegetarian platter and meat platter between five as a starter. Loved the garlic Naans thinner and crisper than the ones we are used to. One of the party had fish Frankie. Spicy fried fish wrapped up in delicious parcels. I stole a Tate of my husband's Chicken Tikka Masala, wonderful. We discussed the style of cooking with Raj and he said that the hottest dish isn't on the menu and came back to the table with a little dish for us to taste. We only visit Barmouth once a year but it will be our first meal when we arrive next year. Easy access from Barmouth by the 7 o'clock train and depart on the 10.7. Advisable to book we went on a Wednesday and there was only one free table. Roll on 2014!

“Simply the Best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 11, 2013

Awesome, authentic cooking. Unlike anywhere else I have ever eaten.
The food is fresh of all the flavours. I had Ginger Chicken and it was fabulous. Barry had JP Curry which you won't find on the menu and its for those who like it hot and fiery.
The owners work so hard to ensure you order something you are really going to enjoy. Don't think you're going to be in and out in 30 minutes -sit back and enjoy the experience of this exceptional restaurant.
We travel nearly 200 miles twice a year to enjoy this exceptionally good food and order some to take home with us as we'll.
If you are expecting a High Street chicken madras then maybe this is not the restaurant for you. Your dish will not look like what you get in the High Street, but this is not a High Street fast food outlet.
Expansion plans are afoot and I am looking forward to fine dining when the extension and renovations are done.
All I can say is tell your hosts what flavours you enjoy and leave the rest to them. They usually will bring you a sample to ensure you like the dish they are creating for you.
I wish them continued success with many culinary accolades awaiting them
