We couldn't do this castle on our last visit to North Wales and was glad to be able to get to visit it on our trip this visit. Very friendly lady, who told us where to go. Although it wasn't a brilliant day weather wise when we went, it was still worth the trip up the path and steps. The views, even on a rainy day are fantastic. There are toilets near the farmhouse entrance, but no drinks facilities. It's not suitable for people in wheelchairs or have limited walking.

we were very impressed with the location and castle itself the weather was not very good but we thought this added to the atmosphere of the castle and its surroundings well worth the not so steep climb

Nice keep on a hill, incredible views from the ramparts. Dont be fooled by photos, yes its not camelot, but allow yourself a good hour to visit the ruins, the keep, read the history of the site on the walls of the first floor, and as i say enjoy those views from the top of the tower.

We have driven by so many times and not stopped so we were determined to pay a visit a some point! It's quite a haul uphill to get to the ruins so not good for the unfit or infirm. We are members of English Heritage so get into CADW properties on our membership too. The lady at the farmhouse where you pay was very friendly and polite. The ruins are quite atmospheric but the steep steps in near darkness up to the top level aren't for the fainthearted! We took some lovely photos and spent about an hour exploring. A great place to take energetic kids 7plus but I don't think it would be great for toddlers or buggies. The info boards are good.

We recently visited the castle during our holiday to Snowdonia. It's a nice place, with a short walk up to the castle. The surrounding countryside looks lovely. It's a nice place to go to for a short visit, but you won't be spending hours there. There is a (rather hefty) fee to visit the property.
