Fascinating insight into the workings of a water mill, had a great tour which explained it all and we could buy some flour at the end too!

“Great mill, friendly Miller”
Reviewed August 31, 2013

Lovely place, beautifully set within the village.

Nice to see mill working from water to grain and a great guide. To call him guide is of course to sell him short as he's the miller and the guy who restored the mill back in early 80's. This is not a big operation tour or anything but I prefer that - it's a damn site cheaper/friendlier!

Loaves/flour/jam for sale if you want it/them.

“Working medieval water mill”
Reviewed July 17, 2013

A chance to see a working mill producing whole meal flour for bread. The flour is on sale as are loaves baked using it. The miller offers an interesting guided tour of the mill and will start it up for you to see it going if its not already milling! The mill is an overshot wheel type for those interested in the technicalities.
The mill pond is home to ducks, chickens and geese, the Coach House cafe is just across the road and offers good fresh food. The mill doesn't allow dogs to enter for obvious food hygiene reasons but they can wait outside. A tour costs £2.50 per adult and lasts about ten minutes or however many questions you have to ask! There is a selection of second hand books for sale in a side building. Combine this tour with the Abbey tour and have lunch/afternoon tea to make it a visit worth the trip from farther afield. There is also a handy local shop nearby for the household essentials. Market day is Tuesdays and worth a look, car park of the Coach House is used for the stalls, fresh food, lunch packs and local produce sold.

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Very interesting working water mill.
Extensive tour by interesting guide who showed all from the water turning the wheel to the flour and cereals produced.
We make our own bread and enjoyed the loaves and rolls made from the flour bought at this mill.
