We had a lovely stay, the cottage is extremely spacious and very comfortable. Would definitely recommend it and would definitely stay again.
We had great holidays there and all was like described. The cottage is good situated. So it is not so far from the mountains and also from the sea. There are very beautiful beaches!
Greetings from Germany
Good location near Neath - ideal base for visiting Gower, Brecon Beacons and Swansea. Lovely cottage in beautiful, peaceful surroundings.
Myself, my 3 year old & my mother stayed here & all 3 generations really enjoyed it.
Big open spaces made it feel very relaxing & my daughter loved all the hidden toys in various cupboards to play with.
There is everything you need at the house- apart from a coat stand, which I thought was odd considering the very large entrance hall, so we had to drape wet coats over dining chairs, the banister, or the sofa.
The access lane is a little narrow & bumpy in parts, but I guess this is to be expected for a house in the countryside.
My only slight criticism is they have two bouncy puppies in the owners accommodation which are often lose. They bounded up & knocked my daughter over which put her off going outside the property again & I felt the owners could have had better control (or Atleast apologised for knocking her over). I saw them lose again & just had to make sure they weren't out when we went to our car. I know this is probably not a often occurrence , but feel it is the only negative feeling from my experience as we weren't neighbours, we were paying guests.
But I would still recommend this accommodation.
Enjoyed our stay but found the downstairs cold.Very pretty location but lanes very narrow for us yanks!
We last stayed here in July 2013, and we were eager to come back and see if it was still as good as we remembered. In fact- it was better! When we arrived in 2013 we fell in love with the cottage but there were a couple of negatives (old television, wifi did not work well and there not being any washing up liquid and sponges provided). This time around there was some lovely little touches in the kitchen- sugar, tea bags, salt and pepper, a sponge and a cloth (however we had to buy washing up liquid). The wifi had obviously been changed/upgraded and there was a strong signal downstairs- good enough for us to watch Netflix on the new flatscreen TV that was provided!
Upstairs the wifi did not work terribly well but it did not concern us at all as we only went upstairs to sleep. The bed was as great as I remembered (it is huge!) the only downside was the pillows that we found quite hard.
When we arrived, we noticed that an extension was being built onto the cottage. Initially I feared that our stay would be blighted by construction work and noise, but fortunately no work was done on it while we were there. The garden is extremely spacious and there is some garden furniture provided.
The cottage is in a nice quiet and tranquil area which is perfect if you want a relaxing place to come to. The sat nav does not find it easily and it will tell you you've arrived when really you need to keep driving up the country lane for another 5 mins! It's centrally located for visiting Cardiff, Swansea, Neath, Gower. We discovered the Aberdulais Tinworks and Waterfall which was breathtaking and worth a visit.
We will look forward to returning and seeing what the extension is like! There is so much in south wales left for us to explore.
