“Beautiful setting, beautiful cottage”
Reviewed May 22, 2017 for a stay in April 2017

Had a wonderful holiday at Highlands Cottage. We hired the cottage for the in-laws and took our caravan which worked perfectly. Amazing location and fantastic facilities at the cottage - Rob even brought us fresh scones on the day we departed. Delicious! Highly recommend for both the cottage and the camp site. Would need shower facilities on the camping field for us to come back on our own though...

“Perfect hideaway retreat”
Reviewed May 19, 2017 for a stay in May 2017

Need to getaway? This is a lovely cottage right in the heart of the Wye Valley. Really close to the M48 and only 20 minutes from either Chepstow and Monmouth.
Plenty of Forestry Commission walks close by, the nearest only a 5 minute walk from the cottage. Lovely uninterrupted views from the cottage over the valley. Perfect for sitting out in the evening sun with a glass of wine! We had an excellent stay with our dogs and enjoyed long peaceful walks every day. The owner welcomed us with home made hot scones and jam on our arrival! Highly recommended if you want that peaceful retreat surrounded by amazing Welsh countryside. And with wi-Fi and sat tv for keeping up with the outside world if you want to. We definitely recommend visiting the Devil's Pulpit overlooking Tinternet Abbey.

Lovely country idyll in a delightful orchard setting. Just right for me and my dog! Great WiFi and good modern facilities. Perfectly placed for exploring the Brecons & Black Mountains & Forest of Dean.

“Idyllic setting for a family reunion”
Reviewed August 31, 2016 for a stay in May 2016

We hired Lou and Robs cottage for a naming ceremony for our 18month son, that we held on the rustic terrace in front of the cottage overlooking their apple orchard, clucking chickens, with the wooded Wye valley beyond. It was a memorable day, made more so by both lou and robs warm attitude, and their able know-how for all things practical. Special mention to their charming kids, Arran and Gaia, who are Grade-1 scoundrels.

“COTTAGE LIFE”
Reviewed August 24, 2016 for a stay in August 2016

Travelled down from Scotland for a family christening. Arrived late afternoon with teenagers who had one main concern, was there Wifi? The cottage is lovely and set in an Orchard overlooking the Welsh countryside. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you'd need, and there was even a box of newly laid eggs from the family's hens waiting for us. The wet room is huge and very clean, the shower was great, the living area is extremely comfortable with sofas, table and chairs, a TV and DVDs, and the bedroom is spacious with a double bed and bunk beds. We all chilled out very quickly and the demands of modern life were quickly forgot as we soaked up the peaceful atmosphere. Will definitely return.
