Charlie's villa has the most amazing location on the Exuma Island. The beach there is so different from the rest of the others: the water is shallow and walkable. The whole bay water is crystal clear. During the afternoon, it looks almost like Bolivia's Uyuni Salt Flat, absolutely amazing. Overall it's great place to stay, to enjoy the beach, and to kayak. We will definitely come back again!
Bay View Villa #1 was just what our family of four including two teens needed. Rest, relaxation & adventure for 8 blissful days! Charlie was a wonderful host & made sure everything was taken care of. He is a very hard worker & enjoys his guests, going out of his way to please. The house was spotless & roomy with an amazing view from the bedroom & living room. We especially liked being able to rent his car & boat whenever we wanted them & used the kayaks almost everyday. This was our second visit to Exuma having stayed on Little Exuma previously. It was nice to be closer to Georgetown & the airport but still have a secluded location with our own beach out front. Several days we just stayed "home" and explored, finding starfish on Man O' War & seeing sting rays, a resident turtle (Sherman) & other fish in the area. The water is so beautiful to look at & appears like an endless swimming pool. The gazebo on the waters edge with lounge chairs and a hammock was great for morning coffee, reading or just gazing at the mesmerizing scenery. Thank you Charlie for your wonderful hospitality! We would love to visit Bay View again. God Bless you & your family!
We rented both villas for a family vacation. The view is simply beautiful. The color of the water is like none I have ever seen before. We used the kayaks regularly to cross the bay to Man 'O War Cay and walked for miles. Only once did we see anyone else over there. A sea turtle, rays, juvenile lemon sharks, and a nurse shark were all sighted in front of the house. The villas were the cleanest vacation rentals we have ever had, and are stocked with every needed amenity. The emphasis is really on the outdoors and the water, but the villas have everything you need, and if there is something you are missing, Charlie and his kind family will graciously attempt to find it for you. Highly recommend. Thank you for your many kindnesses, Charlie.
We just left two days ago and already miss it. This was our first trip to the Caribbean and we feel incredibly lucky to have chosen Charlie's property for our vacation. I looked at pictures and read reviews on hundreds of properties and decided to go with this one because I could tell it was special. I had no idea how special. We are not exaggerating a bit when we tell you that this is the best property on the island. The views, the sandbars, the private beach, gazebo and lounging area with boat dock could not be more perfect. The ability to have daily pay as you go access to a car and boat for the week was generous and more than convenient. While visiting, we explored the island, visited the Tropic of Cancer beach, did a 4Cs all day tour and took Charlie's boat over to stocking Island for a day. The other days we just hung out and kayaked at the property. It was a truly relaxing and fulfilling vacation. We had our five-year-old with us and he and my husband did get sick during our trip. We were able to visit a medical clinic on the island and be seen by a Dr. for $30. With prescriptions, it wasn't more than $120 total for both. We were incredibly relieved and both were feeling better within a day. The other thing I think that is important to mention is how nice the people are in Exuma. When people enter a room there, they greet you with a good morning or good afternoon. They go out of their way to be kind, hold doors, help you with where you're trying to go, and just be good human beings! We were pleasantly surprised by the small town feel of Exuma. Cannot recommend this property enough and Charlie and his family are more than accommodating. They're also very kind and genuine people who are up obsessed with making your stay perfect. The only thing I would do different is go later in the season. I think April or May would've been a little bit better as the water was still a bit cold during our stay in mid-late February. Oh and get a GoPro, full faced snorkel mask and fins!!
This house was absolutely perfect for us. Charlie picked us up from the airport and we stopped by the grocery store and liquor store on the way back to the house. Charlie is so friendly and accommodating. He made sure that we were comfortable getting around the area, and comfortable in the house. He was always available to answer our questions, but was not intrusive. This was easily the cleanest house that I have ever rented. The house had everything that we needed.
We spent our time kayaking, fishing and lounging.
We rented Charlie's car two days and went to Forbes Hill beach, Tropic of Cancer beach and Santana's and Tropical Breeze restaurants. I highly recommend them all. We rented Charlie's boat one day and went fishing and spent the afternoon playing around at Chat n Chill and visiting Powder Beach.
I can't say enough positive things about this vacation. It was nice quiet family time.
We decided on this property after reading the wonderful reviews below. I can't really add much that hasn't already been said. We used the car, the kayaks and went on two half-day guided Bone Fishing trips with the owner Charlie, in his 15' Boston Whaler.
The fishing was great, my non-fishing wife came out on one of the four-hour trips and loved it. You could easily spend your whole vacation enjoying the property and it's amazing surroundings but if you do venture out Forbes Hill Beach and Tropic of Cancer Beach, on little Exuma, are stunning.
Charlie, the owner, lives close to the rental and works tirelessly to ensure everything is perfect - and it was - Thank you!
