“Pristine spot- great food!”
Reviewed May 6, 2014

Loved the water taxi and beach! Stingrays and swimming dogs- everyone enjoys this area. Chat N Chill is friendly with good food and drinks! Lots of shady spots, too.

“A must see while on Great Exuma!”
Reviewed April 23, 2014

Just a short boat ride from Great Exuma, Stocking Island is a must on even the shortest of visits to Exuma. Before your trip to the island, make sure to first get a map of Stocking Island and its hiking trails at the tourism office in Georgetown. Make sure to also take plenty of water with you if you plan to do any hiking.

Park your car wherever you can find a space on the government wharf and walk over to the waiting area near the sign for Elvis’ boat. There is no ticket office and no need to buy tickets in advance as you will pay for your roundtrip on the boat which leaves on the hour. When the boat lands at the dock on Stocking Island, Elvis will collect your money and ask you what time you would like to return.

After leaving the dock, you will be standing by a stretch of sand jutting into the harbor next to the Chat N’ Chill Restaurant. Many will never go any further than the restaurant and the adjoining volley ball court and it is a decent place to spend a few hours. Besides catching a game of volleyball, stingrays and sometimes dolphins frequent the beach (probably for some free hand outs), but don’t spend your whole day there. The best part of a trip to Stocking Island is doing a bit of exploring on the island’s many hiking trails and beaches.

“Fun Sunday trip”
Reviewed April 23, 2014

Rented a Jeep at Sandals $125 and drove (left side) 20 mins to water taxi in Georgetown $12 each roundtrip leaves every hr. Taxi takes about 10 mins and they serve ice cold Kalik beer $3. Play volleyball, swim in amazing clear blue water. Chat n Chill is typical island bar but had good menu and drinks. Go on Sunday for BBQ $20 each. Easy, fun day trip! Glad we experienced it.

“You will never want to leave.”
Reviewed April 23, 2014

This place is heaven on earth. From the famous "Chat n Chill" and the freshly made conch salad, you will find ice cold beer (In a help-yourself, honor system cooler) beach volleyball, great people to meet and hang with, and the coolest coves to walk around and explore. The water is crystal clear and the best temperature...you could stay in the water all day. Sundays is pig roast but everyday is fabulous.
