“Snorkeling and seeing sights”
Reviewed September 7, 2013

We went snorkeling and on boat trips 3 times with Off Island Adventures. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys snorkeling or just seeing the sights by boat with someone who really knows the area along with some interesting stories.

Stocking Island is like no other....beach was active and fun without being over the top. Freshly made conch salad with sting rays just waiting to be hand-fed as they brushed our ankles in knee -deep water. Short and worthwhile walk to the other side of the island.

“Great Isolation......”
Reviewed September 2, 2013

Visited late August 2013......

We had the pleasure of visiting Stocking Island during low season. For this you find yourself alone for most parts of your Hike.

The walk over to the Atlantic (East side) of the Island was fairly straight forward. Kendra at the Chat n Chill explained quite well how to find our way. The funny part was her explaination of crossing the "inlet" from behind the Bar, and around the harbour.

We found it all right, but it was a swimming across inlet (it was high tide!!!), not a knee high stroll thru the water LOL!

Either way, we made it, and found ourselves alone on east side of the island..... where we promptly stripped off our clothes and enjoyed an Au Naturel time by ourselves!! Beautiful walk!!! ( we did this on 5 or 6 beaches, completely deserted paradise's..... perfect!)

Take head of the warnings to not swim on this side of the Island...... the day we were there, the surf was harsh, and very intimidating..... Beware!

We didnt spend that much time exploring, it was very hot, and the bar was calling our name...... but the harbour area and beaches on the west side are great as well.....

“Easy to get to - fun half-day trip”
Reviewed August 30, 2013

This is a neat little island that you can take a 'water taxi' to. The prices when we went were $24 round-trip per person. The ferry leaves from Georgetown near the government building approx every 30 mins (but they'll wait for a while until they get more people on the boat). You can just tell the people approx what time you would like to be picked up at.
Stocking island has a neat little resto - Chat 'n' chill which as good food, beer. Definitely worth a visit. Although we did not have it, we heard the 'conch salad' was good. The beach on this island was peaceful and the water was very clear.
