While visiting Exuma, we had the pleasure of going on a full day Four C's water tour with Captain Andrew and Smiley. What a great time!!!!! There were 6 of us, including 3 children. You could not get the smiles off their faces. We swam with the pigs and sharks. We fed iguanas and had a great lunch at Staniel Cay. We went to a beautiful sand bar and finished the tour by snorkeling at Thunderball Grotto. It was an Awesome Adventure for everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had a wonderful time on the full-day tour with Four C's. Thunderball Grotto, Swimming Pigs, Swimming with Nurse Sharks, Looking for Sand Dollars on the Sand Bar. It had everything we were looking for and made for a wonderful day off our resort.

Only drawbacks....limited restroom stops at beginning of day, additional fee for lunch and nurse shark swimming (because they're at a private dock).

Other than that....all the experience at nearly half the price our resort wanted to charge.

We really enjoyed this trip but it could have been so much better and perhaps a different operator would have delivered a better experience.

We were staying in Georgetown and got picked up at 7:30 for the ride to Barraterre. It took a very long time for us to get to the boat as as we had to stop and pick up every other passenger along the way. We had our own transport so if we could have met the boat at Barraterre it would have saved us so much time.

Those who have young kids will know that you don't move fast when you have to go from point A to point B and not surprisingly all the families were last to get to the boat. As a result, all the kids were sitting in the back of the boat with no view or shade from the sun. Also we were right next to the fuel tank and the smell of the fumes was so strong my eyes were watering. Incredibly only one very nice couple who were on honeymoon offered up their seats (thanks Tony and Stacey) and although we asked Andrew for help he was of no assistance.

Honestly I think we had too many people on the boat and there did not seem to be enough life vests. I love the laid back atmosphere of island life but a short safety talk at the beginning of the journey would be a good idea.

Incredibly 30 minutes into the trip we had to stop for fuel which seemed really bad planning and the stench of the gas only got worse. 45 mins later we lost an engine and had to have an impromptu stop while a rescue boat came with spare parts. Because we were so far behind our schedule we had to skip swimming with the nurse sharks and so missed a big highlight for us.

Smiley was great. He was extremely helpful to all the people who battled the current in and out of Thunderball grotto. Really liked the sandbar, it was a treat to see the pigs and fortunately we did get to interact with some nurse sharks at Staniel Cay.

Was booked for the tour on Tuesday March 26, 2013. We had to get up at 6:30 am as the bus was picking us up at 7:30 from our resort. After we boarded the bus and was 30 minutes into the drive, the driver received a phone call cancelling the trip as it was stormy/windy and would not be a great day. Then we were driven back to our resort. It had been storming all night and I was expecting a phone call/email before we even boarded the bus.

Day 2 - Wednesday March 27, 2013. Same schedule, up at 6:30 and boarded the bus at 7:30. Everything seemed fine until driver got another phone call. People were on the wrong bus and needed to transfer to another van - completed. Another phone call - had to drive back 30 minutes as 12 people who had booked a private tour with the same company had been left behind as the driver did not know about them. Then the bus broke down, someone said it was a radiator hose. It was partially fixed but the beeping noise still was on and we proceeded. At the last resort, we had too many people for the bus so they ended up taking a taxi.

Once we got to the office, the procedure did not get any better. One staff member to book more than 30 people in and take our money/credit cards. Also, only one bathroom after sitting on the bus for 2 hours. This procedure took another 30 minutes. Then we drove a short way to the boat.

We got on the boat and it was really good. You need a windbreaker/another jacket as it is really cold when you drive fast on the boat. This should be on the 'to bring' list for the tour. We had some blankets which was great but other people were freezing. We saw a starfish that Smiley brought into the boat.

We went to Staniel Cay for lunch and it was great. Then we went to see the swimming pigs. We were not sure what to do and then the captain said that we could go into the water with them. A few people did. It was really rushed for the people who did. It would be better to say - 'we are staying for 20 minutes and feel free to go into the water'. We never did know the time for anything so I felt rushed all day.

Went to thunderball grotto next and it was fabulous. Again, felt rushed as no time was given. There were some people who did not even go in. I felt like I couldn't stay as long as I would have liked as people were waiting for others to get back to the boat.

Then we got back to the boat and took a vote as to whether we wanted to swim with the sharks (the ones you pay $10 for) or whether we wanted to just go by the boat dock at Staniel Cay and see the sharks and maybe get to touch them. The majority didn't want to go up to the place where you pay, so we stayed at Staniel Cay. I have seen many pictures/youtube videos about swimming with the sharks and this was nothing like that. My family all wanted to swim with the sharks. In the videos, sharks are all around you and you don't have to move to touch any of them. At Staniel Cay, we had to place ourselves in certain places to even get close to the sharks. Two of my daughters didn't even get to touch any. Very disappointing. When something is offered in the tour, it should never be put to a vote. The people who voted 'no' did not even go in the water with the sharks!!

The rest of the trip was on the sandbar, beautiful and then to the iguanas. We were told that we would spend about 20 minutes with them. People on the boat were complaining that the tour was supposed to be over and that we would not be on time. The tour started late due to the bus problems - so therefore, the tour will be late ending. That shouldn't have been hard to figure out. The iguana time then turned out to be about 10 minutes.

No more problems for the day. Got home at 8pm. The only good thing about the tour was Smiley!!

Very poor management. The bus driver should know all of his pick ups before he starts the day. We should never have had to go back to pick up people. Maybe the bus wouldn't have had problems if we didn't drive another hour. We were never even offered any compensation for the cancellation and then the lateness of the tour. Things should not be voted on. If you offer it in your tour - don't put it to a vote!!

Final advice - book with another company.

Whenever you first get to the dock it doesn't seem like much, but it's amazing. The Captain and Smiley were very nice and super funny. The Captain was fabulous at navigating the water . They take you to a gorgeous underwater cave for snorkeling, you can literally swim with little pigs, go to the sand bank, and swim with sharks. The boat had water and sodas if you got dehydrated, and although it was a fairly long boat ride, and the water was slightly choppy, it was a lot of fun. Overall, awesome day and you get to see once in a life time attractions.
