“Perfect location, kayak access to Exuma's best beaches, truly considerate hosts”

Having seen our share of what the world has to offer in tropical guest accommodations, we can wholeheartedly agree with all the other five star reviews of this fine place.

In terms of vacation dollar expended vs value received, Harbour View is a hands down winner. Large, spacious master suite, extra bath if need be, Direct TV for the NFL playoffs while we were here, strong and steady internet...face it; we need it. All set in a paradise of turquoise and blues and great excursions to out islands and all they have to offer with swimming pigs, and iguanas and sharks...and BONEFISH! My life has changed with my first bonefish on a fly, and some of Exumas best guides as a half mile away. And everybody on the island knows your hosts Don and Gail.

One can only wish there was a sixth star that would account for the sincere desires of the owners to aid in your comfort and convenience while visiting....that and your personal kayak to the best beaches in Exuma...but don't tell anyone about that part.

My husband and I stayed at Harbour view for the best 9 days of my adult life. My husband planned the trip and I went into it with no expectations to avoid disappointment but even if I would have set my expectations as high as possible, this vacation would have exceeded them.

We had a rough travel day, so finally arriving on the island and getting our first glimpse of the most saturated turquoise water we had ever seen, sinking our tired feet into the white powdery sand, while feeling the warm tropical breeze on our skin, set all the stress of the day far, far behind us.

We rented a car to explore the island, which is absolutely recommended. There is so much to see, so a car is a must. Adjusting to driving on the opposite side of the road was an adventure straight out of the gate, but provided some good laughs. When we arrived at Harbour View, which was less than 30 minutes from the airport, we were greeted with 2 warm smiles from Don & Gail. I knew instantly that they were kind and genuine folks, which was comforting. They made us feel right at home and gave us the best advice when we asked all throughout our stay.

The room is lovely. You can't beat the view from the bed. It was incredible waking up to a view of the Mariah Harbour Cay every morning. The kitchen had everything we needed and we loved the shower. We enjoyed many evenings on the lovely spacious deck as well.

If you're worried about what to do and how to navigate the island, if you stay at Harbour View, scratch that off the things-to-worry-about list, because Don has created the Holy Grail of information about the island in the form of a binder full of restaurant suggestions, beaches & maps of how to get to everything. It was invaluable. We didn't leave the house without it. Don and Gail are also there whenever you have questions about anything. You only see or hear them when you need them. I don't know how they did it but we felt totally secluded and alone but with one ring of a bell, they were right there with loads of great information. We really appreciated that.

The best part about Harbour View were the kayaks. Don loans them out for you to kayak and explore The Moriah Harbour Cay. It was our first time kayaking and we LOVED it! It will certainly not be the last time. We chose to explore the Cay 3 days out of the 9. Let me tell ya... It. Is. Beautiful. We visited 8 beaches along the island and the Moriah Harbour Cay was our favorite. And we didn't see one single person any of those days. We basically had the entire Cay to ourselves! Just us, some exotic birds, fish, a friendly lemon shark and a giant sting ray. lol. Another cool thing is that low tide and high tide create two completely unique environments. It's like visiting 2 separate places! At low tide, you can walk out into the middle of the water for what seems like miles! We had a blast all 3 days we spent exploring.

Some of our other favorite beaches included Fort Beach and Tropic of Cancer Beach. Again, we didn't see one person on any of these beaches all week. We seriously felt like we were on a beautiful deserted island for most of the week! We swam with sea turtles at Hooper's Bay and hung out with some "tame" sting rays at Chat n' Chill on Stocking Island. Forbes Hill Beach was beautiful and gave a different feel with the rocky terrain overlooking the deep blue water. I found some amazing shells and conch shells at Satana's Beach after a delicious lunch of fried grouper at Santana's Restaurant, which has also been frequented by the cast of Pirates of the Caribbean in be past. We enjoyed taking in the incredible views from the salt monument as well. Our favorite place to eat was Tropic Breeze on Little Exuma. We went there twice, cause is was so delicious and the view is spectacular. All the restaurants are little open shacks with views that are second to none... pretty cool. But plan to spend a small fortune on food. It was at least $50 for the two of us everywhere we ate. Groceries are very expensive as well. $9 for apple juice! lol! We ate a lot of Ramen and bologna sandwiches, but when you're in such a beautiful place, even that tastes delicious.

I could go on an on... This was the vacation of a lifetime. We had the absolute best time and I will hold all of the beautiful things I experienced close to my heart for a lifetime. The location was perfect, the scenery was breathtaking, our apartment was perfectly comfortable and felt like home and we had great hosts that provided great tips and advice so that we got the most out of our vacation. It was perfect.

Thank you Don and Gail for letting us stay in your little piece of paradise. It was an experience we will never forget.

“Peaceful Experience”

A week's stay in Exuma provided exactly the much needed peace and relaxation we so desperately needed. Gail and Don were terrific hosts, offering suggestions and making arrangements for trips and meals to ensure that we made the most of our trip. Harbour View is easy to find -- especially with Don's excellent directions, and is located about a 20 minute drive from town. The views from the upstairs apartment truly are beautiful and the stars at night are just breathtaking. The one bedroom is perfect for couples who enjoy being out and about during the day and who appreciate quiet evenings. During our trip, we made use of the kayak (thanks to Don's instructions), visited private beaches, met amazing people, and enjoyed the Bahamian lifestyle. Based upon Don and Gail's advice, we dined at (and loved) Tropic Breeze, Santana's and Peace and Plenty. I do recommend that if you are in need of a few food items/beverages that you visit Sheila's little convenience store which is within walking distance from Harbour View. This was an amazing trip that we will not soon forget!

“Most amazing place on Earth!!!!”

We absolutely fell in love with this place when we visited in 2012, that we just had to come back again! And hope to have many more visits in the future. We wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else on the island! Don and Gail are the best hosts you can ask for. They always respect your privacy, yet they are always available if you need anything at all! We have learned to always take their advice as well :) As far as the best beaches and the best food and prices on the island they are always spot on!!!!! They are some of the kindest people you could ever meet! They have made a book and maps with exact directions everywhere on the island down to the mile. They let you use their own personal kayaks to explore the cays across the harbor from the home. There you will find the BEST beaches on the island and you will almost always have them all to yourself! We spent hours enjoying all the marine life in the shallows there. Before your arrival, they will even ask if you'd like them to pick anything up for you from the market in case you don't have a chance to get there before it closes! You can't ask for better customer service! If you want to have a nice, peaceful secluded vacation this is, hands down, the best place you can go!!!! I promise you will not be disappointed! Thank you Don and Gail for letting us stay at your beautiful home!!!! We will definitely be coming back.....lots of times!!

“Loved Harbour View...”

My sister and I spent 4 nights at Harbour View on beautiful Great Exuma. The villa was great, and the views from the deck and bedroom were amazing! We spent a good bit of time in both Georgetown and on Little Exuma, and the villa was located right between the two, with a fifteen minute drive in either direction.

Don and Gail are great, and were more than willing to help out in any way possible. In fact, after witnessing our less-than-impressive kayaking skills, Don repeatedly offered to motor my sister and I over to Moriah Cay. Next time we visit Don and Gail (and we certainly will), we may take him up on the offer!

“Paradise Views and Fabulous Location”

Harbour View has the best view you may ever see when you wake up of the morning from your bedroom window. Excellent well equipped accommodation, Don and Gail make you so welcome and leave you to enjoy your peaceful vacation but are there to help if you ever need their help or advice.
Exuma is the most stunning paradise island we have ever visited. The people are so friendly, the turquoise blue sea is so clear and amazing, restuarants are reasonable and the local food is fabulous. Our favourites were Paradise Bay for lunch, Turqouise Clay to watch the sunset, and have a drink, Tropic Breeze for dinner. An evening of life band and dancing at the Peace and Plenty hotel Thursdays and Exuma Beach Fridays is a must. You visit this Island once- fall in love with everything about it and just want to go back again. Harbour view I cannot highly recommend enough as a great base to stay.

“Amazing apartment, incredible island, unforgettable holiday!”

Don and Gail are really kind and nice, they have helped us when our car was broken, they have suggested us about what to see on the island and they have fully respected our privacy.
The apartment is very beautiful and big, with a breathtaking view of Moriah Cay!
Guests have the opportunity to use the bbq, which is an excellent and cheap alternative to dinners in restaurants.
There is no sand beach in front of the apartment (the nearest beaches are about 10 minutes by car), but you can use the Don’s kayak to reach Moriah Cay that, in our opinion, it is heaven on earth! We have never seen anything so AMAZING!
The apartment has free wi-fi, so you can call at home for free with Skype.
We'll return at Don&Gail’s home for sure as soon as possible!

Thank you for everything!!
