Me and my husband James spent 5 amazing nights at this beautiful hotel in Great Exuma. The scenery was just fantastic, the food was amazing cooked by this unbelievable chef called Benjamin. The Chief Hostess Claire was lovely and the room was really nice. It is a little paradise right on the beach, really romantic. I will be visiting here again soon and would unreservedly recommend it to anyone. Don't forget to eat a BBQ by David (one of the locals) it is fantastic. Thanks Guys!!! See you soon!!

My husband and I bought a Living Social deal to spend 4 nights at the Exuma Palms Hotel. We didn't know what to expect when we went, but I can tell you we were absolutely thrilled with our experience. Ben and Claire were phenomenal hosts and, in our opinion, went above and beyond to make our stay fantastic. They were always available to provide recommendations, help with booking cars or excursions, and even helped us avoid a potentially costly and embarrassing mistake (for which we are forever thankful). Both have years working in the luxury yacht world - and it shows. They are able to interact with guests from all walks of life, and have a genuine friendliness and way of making you feel like you're the only guest in the hotel. Their laid back management style helped us get into vacation mode - especially when it came to dining times. We were blown away when they asked us what time we wanted breakfast instead of informing us of breakfast hours (so appreciated after a late night of drinking or just wanting to sleep in on vacation).

The location of the hotel is super convenient - less than 10 minutes from the airport - and a quick drive to Georgetown. The view is something out of a postcard, beautiful white sand, crystal clear water. All rooms enjoy a ocean front view - especially the second story rooms. We enjoyed sitting on our balcony and watching the water. The rooms are clean and functional. Tile floors, flat screen tv with cable, large step-in tile showers with great water pressure (for the Caribbean) and air conditioning. Ben and Claire are in the process of renovating the property and bringing it up to its full potential, so there was renovations going on at the time - but we were never inconvenienced nor bothered by it - as we're constantly renovating our own house. The Dining Room opened up to a lovely patio overlooking the ocean, and we enjoyed eating breakfast out there or reading a book or lounging on the hammock.

However, the best thing about the Palms, is the food. Ben is an outstanding chef, and provides a fantastic food. His food is light, yet filling, beautifully presented and is a nice departure from the typical island fried food. His Chicken Carbonara is quite possibly, some of the best food I've ever had. We hadn't planned on it - but we ate every meal, except lunch at the hotel -- the food is THAT good. In fact, the first night we were back from our vacation, my husband asked me what I'd like to have for dinner. My response? Ben's food.

We had a fantastic stay at this hidden treasure, and we're already ready to go back. We encourage people to take a chance and truly experience the islands by staying at the Palms. Thanks Ben and Claire for a great time!!!

PS - Ben, we think you should really consider the go-kart track. ;-)

Combining the high quality of the innkeepers with the location plus the overall value for the $$$ make this a property you should strongly consider.

VALUE: Excellent. This is a what-you-see-is-what you get property.

HOSTS: Claire and Ben will do whatever it takes to make your stay enjoyable. I cannot say enough about the hospitality they provided to us.

PROPERTY: Evolving. Safe and clean but sometimes rough around the edges. It is improving day-by-day. If you're spending much time in your room or in the hotel you probably shouldn't be visiting The Exumas in the first place. 2nd floor balconies are easily roomy enough for three adults.

LOCATION: Excellent. Mid-island on Great Exuma. Not too far from anywhere. Hoopers Bay beach (thanks Ben for the referral) is nearby and easy to find; there is hardly anyone there. Enough surf on Three Sisters Beach to recreate in the waves.

COMMONS AMENITIES: Bright and airy dining room, good balance between casual elegance and a cafe vibe. Big enough bar. Clean and convenient restrooms. A newer high capacity and accessible ice machine. Pleasant outdoor dining area. Beach access speaks for itself.

DINING: Outstanding. Simply outstanding. A diverse menu. Although I think Ben would make just about anything you wanted assuming he had the ingredients.

OTHER: Close to the airport; a gas station (there aren't many on Great Exuma), convenience store and a liquor store are nearby. Great for star gazing.

We immensely enjoyed our stay at Exuma Palms Hotel and recommend it based on our experience with the hotel leadership, staff, and the property's amenities.

Room Tip: If you don't mind climbing steps the second floor rooms have much better ocean views.

We stayed at Exuma Palms for 4 days in November 2012 and it was like staying at the home of a very welcoming friend. Ben was really friendly, attentive and generous, a joy to meet, he went out of his way to make sure that we enjoyed our stay and he succeeded - thank you so much, Ben! and thank you to David and all your staff too, who were also very friendly and helpful. Ben is currently refurbishing the hotel, there is more to be done but it's on the way to being a real gem. The location is idyllic, right on a lovely beach - falling asleep to the sound of the waves every night was lovely. The bedrooms are not luxurious but the beds are vey comfortable, there is plenty of storage room and of course the sea views are wonderful. The restaurant and bar is a lovely bright room, nice decor, and the big windows make the most of the sea views. The food is excellent, Ben is a great chef, every meal was really tasty. We had a lovely meal at Exuma Point too. Exuma has gorgeous beaches and friendly people - do hire a car and explore the island. Leave some time for the hammock outside the restaurant too - very relaxing!

I had a very perfect stay at Exuma Palms. The location is amazing, all the rooms are facing the ocean, you will go to sleep and wake up with the sound of the waves. The staff is just lovely, they helped me in everything I needed. The room was cleaned and linens and towels were changed everyday. The restaurant was just gorgeus. I would go back again without doubt

I can never understand a person to do many different job and be successful. Palm hotel is run by an Irish guy who can't stop working day and night. he is there for every guest, and if they don't know the island he take them to town for shopping or to cruise the place. The hotel is right on the beach, he provide everything from towel, food and drinks. the rooms are immaculateness with all aliments to stay there for weeks, The bar just renewed is on beautiful white and blue color seems like a navy lounge. I always go to the palms and this is my first review. I feel the place is a proper chill out spot. people who don't know about the island and like to discover more or for people like me who don't want to be bothered that's your place.
The hotel is on the beach basically one step to the sea . it's cheap for Exuma and you can get the best service from a 5 star hotel.
The place has a party on Sunday, buffet and live music busy with beautiful people from the island were you can share a long chat,
This is not a place for people who aspect room service and 5 star treatment but a place where people doesn't aspect anything and get alot more for the money they spend.
Anyway for the people who never been in the Bahamas and don't know how is it, I can tell you people are really slow and not careful. Here are the palm you not be waiting for anything.
Compliment to Ben to make this place incredible,

Andreas,
London

The choices are limited in Exuma and you can't do better than this hotel. The owner, Ben, is very helpful and is a fantastic chef. He takes advantage of local fresh ingredients which is not the norm for many other restaurants on the island. I stayed during Hurricane Sandy and the owner made food and provided essentials when the power was down. He also was very helpful in arranging activities and has many local connections which will help you during your stay. The views from the rooms cannot be beat. You look out on a wonderful beach. A fantastic experience.

Room Tip: All the rooms have beach views. I had a room on the second floor which was nice.
