Our family, (8 0f us) took a day tour with Julius from Fishbone tours Feb. 21, 2013.

We had the best time exploring the Conch garden, eating his fabulous Conch salad, Turtle hunting, Starfish gathering and snorkeling. All were returned to the ocean unharmed.

Julius was prepared, knowledgeable, & so funny. It was a very memorable day for each of us.

I give Julius and Fishbone tours 10 stars all around. (to bad there are only 5 stars available)

Julius is also a fantastic artist, so be sure to stop by and see his artwork also.

Our family had a great day with Fishbone Tours. Julius was friendly, interesting, and infinitely patient with our lack of turtle-catching ability.

This was a quality tour well managed and paced. Julius was patient and very knowledgeable about the various sea creatures in the local waters. We packed in a lot in the 5 hours and my three teen kids were very pleased with the tour. We visited the conch garden, collected and released starfish, swam with the green sea turtles, snorkeled, fished, and had shore lunch. The only improvement would have been to offer a more "Bahamian" lunch versus the hot dog and hamburger routine.

Fishbone tours was BY FAR the highlight of my trip to Eleuthera with my mother. We spent about 5 hours of fun out on a small boat doing a mixture of fishing, spear-fishing, snorkelling, diving for conch and getting up and close with some of the amazing creatures in the caribbean. We even got to eat a delicious conch salad, prepared fresh on the boat from the conchs we had dived for. The highlight of the trip for me was getting to dive in to the water from the boat and pull up a sea turtle. It took three tries and a lot of effort, but was so invigorating and exciting; absolutely a once in a lifetime experience.

The key difference between fishbone and other similar tours I have done was the guide Julius. Simply put, he's phenomenal. I could always tell that he genuinely cared about making my trip the best it could possibly be. He was constantly gauging the weather to make sure we made best use of the sun we had at different times of the day. We were a rather easy going group, but he made it clear he was willing to adapt the trip to whatever we wanted it to be.

Julius is incredibly knowledgable about the area and the species that live in it. He was able to talk in detail and enthusiastically about the sea turtles, conch and different species of fish we saw. You can really tell that he loves what he does. Finally and most importantly, Julius is just a really fun and cool person. It makes a trip a lot more enjoyable when the guide is not just someone to show you around, but someone you actually enjoy hanging out with.

My only advice is to make sure you watch the weather reports to pick the right day to go out. Things like chasing and diving for a turtle aren't possible in bad weather, and spear fishing and scuba diving aren't much fun when the water is murky. Pick a nice sunny day to organise your trip and prepare for a really fun day.

On an island where the airlines are always late, there are no reliable directions to anywhere, and laid back can easily be mistaken for not really caring... Julius's Fishbone Tour was the highlight of our trip.

We called Julius at the last minute (partly because our electricity, internet and phones had not worked reliably in days), and fortunately he had an opening. He met us where and when he said he would and was not only entertaining, but quite informative. Our 4 kids (ages 7-15) had a great time in the conch garden, snorkeling, watching me (Dad) catch a 50 pound green turtle with my bare hands, and fishing for snapper. The on-board conch salad he prepared was delicious, and far-better than the salad we'd had at the local Friday-night fish fry. We finished off our day with lunch with his wife and kids... Tasty food and delightful company

I would recommend the adventure tour and I'd commend Julius on providing a level of home-grown service that reminded me why people come to the islands. Well done.
