There is island time then there is just plain rude.

Arrived for our reservation to a power cut, not their fault though we were told it happens often. So after sitting in the dark for 40 minutes by ourselves a rude waitress struggled to get us a drink. No candles or nibbles or hellos while we waited.

Then another 40 mins later said waitress returned to inform one of our appetisers was unavailable, by this time starving we asked her to bring us some garlic bread instead. I'm still waiting for it and I just got home. She did however bring a plate of ribs but no napkins plates or cutlery and disappeared for another 30 mins.

Then finally brought out steaks which were undercooked and cold. No drink refills or asked if we needed sauces or if indeed the food was ok. It was not by the way.

Then later the cheque arrived with the other starters that we didn't recieve still on the bill. You guessed it, ANOTHER 30 minute wait to have it rectified.

Gratuity is also added to the bill so you have no option but to pay.

Appalling place. Disgusting staff. Terrible food. Avoid and go to tippys!!

Except for the very slow service (our meal took 2 1/2 hours) we really liked this place. The view over the water was fantastic and since there was nothing else open and nothing else to do we loved the hours we spent here. The drinks were very good and the food was very good. The shrimp and crabmeat spring rolls were delicious, the dipping sauce was outstanding and the rolls themselves were not too greasy. Lollipop lamb chops were tender and flavorful, chicken sandwich was well flavored with a mix of chipotle and mango and the grouper sandiwch was fresh and delicious. The side dish of butternut squash with chevre was also very good. All in all our afternoon meal here was fine.

Just terrible, especially when you plan a trip all year looking forward to spending a holiday with family and enjoying a once in a life time experience. Food was without imagination; it was delayed, overcooked and served luke warm. There was a stunning lack of leadership and an indifference to the interminable and inexplicable wait -- it was a set menu.

After a full day of sight seeing, we finally stopped for supper at Sky Beach. The wait seemed to be very long, but I was famished so it may have felt longer than it actually was. The food was really good- I had a chicken burger with pineapple salsa. YUM! The other 3 had some sort of fish dish and thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The meal was about $110 for the 4 of us- appetizer, meals, and a few beverages. The atmosphere seemed really nice- beautiful views, swimming pools and loungers all right there. I would definitely recommend- but be prepared to understand the full meaning of "island time".

I have eaten at the Bistro numerous time and each time the experience has been worse than the one before. Heaven help you if you get there when there are several large tables as you will wait and wait for service and then wait even longer for food. After the waiting, my experience has been that the food is not worth the time waited. One of our group is a vegetarian and ended up with a vegetarian pasta that included cut up potatoes as one of the vegetables. It tasted like an entire bottle of Tabasco was poured on top of it when all we had requested was chili flakes. One night we waited over an hour and a half for appetizers to arrive at the table. While waiting an hour, I approached the kitchen to find out when we could expect some food as we had children who were hungry and they said that they would accomodate the kids. French fries were sent to the table rather than what we ordered. As we had not ordered french fries as one of our appetizers, imagine our surprise when we were charged for them. That sealed it for me. This restaurant is off my list which is too bad as I live here year round.
