“What a nice surprise!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 5, 2012

On first afternoon on island with no reservations or expectations, just driving down the road with a firend to see what we would come across. Popped into Rainbow Inn for drink and to check out menu and grounds. Ended up staying there all 4 nights. What a find. going to drive to beaches anyway. Cool bar area and great great food. Mish and Dev and bar staff ladies rocked. Crystal water a hundred yards down the hill with great snorkeling, especially at sunset and for a early monring wake up. Took the main house. full kitchen and large porch to get silly on. Drove entire island and to Harbor town (yawn). Rainbow Inn was by far the best place and value we came across. And a shout out to the Amos and the boys at the Jimmys bar at ELH.

I stayed at the Inn, Hibiscus, a couple of weeks ago on a weekend jaunt from Nassau. It was a great setting and a nice cozy and comfy room. The grounds were serene, with a fantastic view of the water. And there was a pool too. I ate at the restaurant on a couple of nights and the food was as good as the reviews stated. The owners were very friendly and helpful as I set out to explore the island. It was a wonderful getaway and I highly recommend staying at the Inn, particularly if you're looking for simplicity and serenity.

It is obvious based on the decisive majority of positive comments on this wonderful, Rainbow Inn, that Rhonda, Zev, & Miche & Co. are consistent in their pursuit of a wonderful experience for their guests. The newly renovated facilities are as nice as one can expect on North Eleuthera. For those uptight parties who complained, clearly they did not know what they were in for, as North Eleuthera is not a luxurious place, but it is a wonderfully kept secret where you can go to reconnect with what is important: good conversation, friendships, and amazing new experiences!!!

The hospitality is second to none, and I would be lying to say that seeing Miche at 7 a.m. in her bathing suit, apron, and Uugs preparing breakfast is not a great way to start the day. The view from the restaurant is EXCELLENT! The beach is a two-minute walk! This place is like a crossroads of diversity and kindness on a paradise island! If you like to fish, Zev if the Master. If you want to sit quietly and read a book you can do that too. The entertainment with Tarzan and Co. is also second to none!

This was one of the most lively and rejuvenating vacations I have ever taken! It was a perfect blend of good friends and new experiences. I hope to go back as soon as possible, Also, if you are an uptight, needy, narcissist than this place is not for you. Clearly, as you can tell from the negative reviews by this class of people they don't have a good time. If you are about simple living in a reliable and friendly environment then get here!

Sorry for any misspelling of names Rainbow Crew! You guys are great, and thank you for making Beau & Liz's wedding such a special event!

I am looking forward to seeing you soon.

Warmest Regards and Happy Travels to All! Rainbow Inn is the real deal!

We had our wedding and honeymoon at the Rainbow Inn last month. We were there for 10 wonderful days. The grounds are beautiful, the staff are so incredibly nice, and the food is amazing. We also felt we got a really good value using the Pot o' Gold special. Our wedding guests went on and on about how nice it was, and how great the staff were. The Rainbow is a small, family-run Inn. Rhonda, Mish and Zev made us feel very comfortable the whole time we were there, and Mish did such a great job with our wedding! We loved it all. Thank you Rainbow, we can't wait to come back! The fishing trip was also a lot of fun, and the fish were delicious!

Rhonda, the owner, accommodated us for one night when our private house was accidentally double booked, so we had not researched the property prior to our stay. You know how sometimes when you arrive, the reality of the place does not match the beauty depicted on their website? NOT SO HERE! The staff were all very friendly and showed a high interest in our comfort and happiness! The pool was wonderful and the restaurant was very good, serving three meals a day on the premises. The accommodations are quaint and cleanly appointed with everything you need. The bed was very comfortable, too. The Rainbow Inn is centrally located in Eleuthera and I would highly recommend it.

We’ve just got back from a 10 day stay at the Rainbow Inn which was part of our Honeymoon. We wanted a peaceful place to stay to chill for a few days after a busy time in Nassau. The Rainbow Inn worked very well for what we wanted, using their Pot of Gold special with the food deal weighted to the start of the stay when we were static, and the car hire towards the end when exploring. Being in the middle of the island, the location worked for us too.

The chalets are set in beautiful, well tended gardens. The rooms are basic but tastefully decorated. The build of the chalets isn’t the sturdiest so you have to hope that you don’t have noisy neighbours; but that said, this doesn’t seem to be the sort of place that would attract inconsiderate people. The kitchenette was equipped with a fridge, microwave, coffee maker and toaster, with plates, cutlery and cups etc, so it’s not at a full self-catering level.
Despite being peak season it was quiet when we were there which suited us. Although there is a bar/restaurant on site which has live music most evenings and a great view for breakfast. The staff are great too.

With regard to negatives, we’d reiterate hhendron’s comments about the bedding and cleaning.

With regard to value, it’s harder to gauge. The Island in general is very expensive like most of the Caribbean and the Rainbow also reflects this.

The Island itself is another story, a strange mix of ex-pats and locals with an almost ghost town like feel to it in places with all the property for sale. It was also really sad to see the amount of litter lining the roadside including the occasional car wreck. That said, some of the beaches were gorgeous, virtually deserted and as pristine as possible without human interference. If you’re into exploring deserted beaches then you’ll need a 4x4.

I stayed at the Rainbow Inn in December 2011 for several nights. Having previously been to North Eleuthera in March of 2011 where I found the Rainbow Inn.

It is clearly a place that is charming. The inside bar and eating area is cosy and the staff are always more than friendly and very accommodating. The rooms are in little out house type things, not part of the main building. The rooms are basic, with a fridge etc. However, it would have been quite nice if their was a TV in the rooms (none have TVs), which would have enabled us to veg out just a bit.

The only criticism I would make is that initially we stayed two nights, before heading to Governors Harbour, on the second day no one came to change the sheets or tidy up. This may have been a one off error, but I would expect the maid to visit daily.

The other minor criticism I would make is that on Sunday the bar closes, together with the restaurant (as it appears the whole Island does). So if you thought that there would 7 days a week bar and meals you would be in for a shock on Sunday. This was the first hotel / inn that I have been to where they withdraw from the guests their kitchen and bar on a sunday, leaving their guests possibly high and dry. This needs to be made clear to all that book so at least guests can attempt to make alternative arrangements.

On the whole these are very nice people and with a charming restaurant and bar which is prob the best on the island. I would defo come back here.
