featuring the newest cat island drink, "como hill" a MUST HAVE served in a 45oz glass. Como Hill is the highest hill in the Bahamas and hot spot boasts a drink that will match that altitude. The sky is the limit with service. Your trip to cat island is not complete unless you visit como hill and enjoy a como hill drink at hot spot. On orders, this drink can be delivered to you when you finish climbing como hill, weddings or any occassion 3542076 or 4646505. Let me just start by saying that if you've never been to an out island of the Bahamas you've not really experienced the Bahamas. There are over 700 islands in the country, 31 inhabited and 16 have resorts and restaurants for visitors (the others are private.) Cat Island is truly authentic - no major developments, no chains or franchises,1,200 residents inhabiting 150 square miles and this brings me to The Hot Spot. Drop yourself in the most authentic little restaurant in the Bahamas - hospitality from the heart, true Bahamian food and presentation (appetizers are served in "boats" made from the shuck of a palm frond and sea grape leaves - drinks are served in Pigeon Pea old school tin cans. And oh my Lord the Sky Juice (a coconut cup with coconut juice and pulp (fresh) rum, sweetened condensed milk, and ice. Michael "tall Teddy," the karaoke DJ is straight up Bahamian meets Miami and is an incredible host. On a Friday or Sunday night the karaoke rocks on with a few visitors and all the locals. The music selection is huge - you've never really experience karaoke until you've heard a Bahamian sing "I did it my way," and "The Gambler." They have a nice widows walk overlooking a creek and the leeward side ocean. Show up for dinner and stay for the music or come around 10 pm when the fun really starts. I danced until 3 a.m. with a huge crew of about 14 people and it was the most fun I've ever had - even better than the mega clubs of Amsterdam or LA because it's like a house party with Bahamians and rastafarians. Go. You won't regret it. And get the conch or lobster and fried okra... so,so, so good. Say hi to Teddy and Melanie (the owner who cooks every meal and will swoon you with her love songs) for me.
